Anyone Else Ever Notice This?

Anyone else notice this? Over the years I've known and met many a female pool groupie. Very few of them ever mention the female pro players. My own opinion is that most of them started as pool players and never were quite good enough to hit the regional tournaments, or did and found out quick enough that they didn't have it, and are jealous of those that made it. If people in their group start talking about female pros they either say nothing, head for the ladies room, or say, "none of them have a chance against a male pro gambling."

Even the few true pool groupie's we have on the forums hardly ever give credit to any of the women pros that win tournaments, championships, or world titles. They never join in a thread about women pros unless it is "the" hot topic of the day, and then they just put in a few token words. Just my thought of the day. Johnnyt

Ha ha, I wasn't talking sexual either. You are right and I have a couple of thoughts as to why, but they are just thoughts and are probably wrong in some way or another.

And I thank them for watching/cheering on men more than the ladies, if they didn't then who would?

Because

most have come to Pool via a once husband, boyfriend, or a friend friend,
plus guys locally are always playing, and those girls are usually on the lookout for the best players, you know, the gunslingers .... lol Good Poolplayers will emanate a certain aura that draws them in, or at least they used to.

How often do you see a good woman player practicing, or playing with another good player. The women players around here play a little league, and the larger tournaments (if you can call women's tournaments large, usually < 16 players), but other than that they don't put in the practicing time, especially if they have kids.

Speaking of cougars one was watching me play and bought me a drink after I got done practicing, she said "after I saw you break I wondered what else you could do that well". Don't know about being a pool groupie but she was definitely a fan of someone with a big break.

#2. If your observation is indeed true the majority of the time, I would like to add that most of the men on here talk non-stop about the female players body parts instead of their games. If we took out the physical-talk, the female pool players may not get mentioned at all, according to your theory.

Female pool groupies??? Where!!! around here there are 200 men to 1 women and they aren't groupies. DARN!!! And if they were groupies the odds that one would head my way is less than cue raffle

Unfortunately it's true in real life also. Pool playing isn't a good way to meet women thats for sure.
