anyone else have video proof of making this shot?

I went to the pool hall hoping to video this, and found out (again) that it's really f'ing hard. I chalked the crap out of the OB and used the most extreme english possible but never got closer than the first diamond. I once nicked the ball and sent it on a line towards 1 inch north of the pocket. But it only rolled a few inches.

How close are we allowed to put the CB to the OB? If I could move closer a foot...

...well, I'd still probably miss it. This shot is no joke.

that's exactly what i experienced. in the video i showed a few posts back that one that trickled only a few inches was not even in line with making it. (that's why i hovered over it looking at the line....it would have hit the rail about 1-2 inches up from the tittie)

edit: here's that video of my attempt again:

Or more determined. As I noted above, as a proposition this is a one hour shot although I did get lucky one time and make it on the second try.

While I have never tried this shot, I have been seen hitting a 9' 85 degree cut with no side spin for an hour or so. My thought was that it was helpful...frustrating as heck but helpful.

Do you think it is beneficial to hit a shot like this over and over? At one point in this thread a player said he would never hit it again because he felt it hurt his ability to perform normal shots.

I doubt that this is the first shot anyone should work on with the possible exception of Vernon Elliott. If there is any value in practicing this shot -- other than to amaze on-lookers -- it is in what you learn about your fundamentals when trying it.

I will take that as a yes

Thanks.
