Anyone Ever Get a Bad Custom Cue

You're so not worth it. People like you are the ones who talk shit behind monitors just to try to get a rise out of people, and in face-to-face situations you're probably not the same way. This is the internet so "pulling chains" doesn't always come across to those who do not know what the poster is like. Now go get a real cue, not one of those cookie-cutter mass-produced ones! ;)

That's not quite true...I'm also a prick in real life.

How about you lend me one of your "highly collectible" ones for a week or two. Watcha got??

I can be a real prick as well, but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt before I show them that side of me. You just like to cut right to the chase. :D

I truly believe in the 30 second shot clock for all aspects.

bad cue

I had finally saved up enough money to have a custom 60" cue made. I sent the specs to the cuemaker and also called to confirm the the cue was correct. A couple of weeks later the cue was delivered; the ferrule was wrong, the color was wrong, and the shaft was also wrong, it also came with rings that I specifically mentioned many many times that I didn't want. I still ended up keeping the cue becaue I figured it was enough of a hassle the first time and I wouldn't want to go through the sending back process. When I called the cuemaker she didn't even have the original specs that I ordered seems that she got them confused, or didn't care.

A couple of weeks? You're kidding, right? I do not know of any custom cue makers that can turn out a finished cue that quickly. Got any pics?

Joss cues are made in Towson, MD.

For the money, I'd go to http://www.josscues.com/cues/customcues.asp
and CREATE A CUE. You can choose ANY butt, any forearm design, any additional inlays, or any stain for super decent money. And once more, it's from an HOF cuemaker.

He makes a few one of a kind custom cues annually.

Oh, and i bet he uses that finger joint too.
Man... that gives me the hives...

There are many cue makers today. It seems as if every day someone posts a cue or website of a new cuemaker. It always seems as this new cue brand is the best quality and hitting cue ever made. It almost appears as if anyone can buy a lathe and make a cue from the way all these new makers are popping up.

There has to be some bad cue makers out there. Has anyone ever bought a bad cue from a custom cue maker?

From my personal experience, I will put Arnot Q as a bad custom cue maker. I ordered a cue from him and did not like the way it was constructed. Within a few months, the finish started cracking every where... And I take care of my cues too... Would never buy another from him again....

Did you contact them and let them know you were having trouble with the finish? Just curious as to their response.

i bought a new cue from paul dayton and figured out the butt was warped a couple of months later.he wanted $400 to fix it.a brand new cue.the cue had no knicks or scratches as i only played with it once(it didn't hit that good either) anyway my point is there is no way it could have been called abuse.i have bouht hundreds of custom cues in my life and he was the worst i have ever dealt with.
