No doubt. The Timmy delivery sounds strained and insincere is all. This opinion based on recent SF commentary; not watching MC.He's trying to give the role the respect it wants.
He's trying and it is a great opportunity.

He said these new players have helped him see the other side of pool , everyone just playing and being respectful….. Let people change their ways instead of bringing up the past ….. I was the same way , we were raised in the 80s, 90s in pool rooms playing road hustlers , pimps , druggies , murderers , people cussing, fighting, threatening bodily harm if you make the 9ball 10people deep !!!! I quit for 15 years , come back to the pool rooms and everyone is respectful, apologizing when they dog it and accidentally hook you , lol wtf …. Pool has changed and so has Scott / and me lol ….. Let him be niceWhile I enjoy what he says sometimes, I can't help but think about all that shady BS with Dippy, the truck (Yukon, whatever it was) at the DCC, and Scott's overall poor attitude towards fellow competitors.
Anyone else think about that.

How often do we reset for new chances?
Jim is actually a really nice well spoken guy, if you ever get the chance to meet him.It could be that Canuk tool Wyche so count your blessings. SF's ok by me.
Imo, you're coming across as one with a grudge about something you're only indirectly involved in and it is 'pool eating its own'.He was acting like this only a few months ago.

He was definitely part of the big fast money crowd when young! We all get an impression of people based on our interaction or viewing of them. I wouldn't be Scott's number one fan but I know and respect people who get along fine with him.
One of those funny things from dirt tracking days, my car was down, I bumped into another driver who wasn't racing that night. No surprise, we met at the beer box. "Come meet my wife." Off we go and I am introduced to his wife. Blank look. He drives #__. Still a blank look. That old red 57 chevy.
"That son of a bi, Oh how are you doing." She had went from a loud shout to butter wouldn't melt in her mouth honey sweet southern belle in midsentence. I laughed, "Yes ma'am, that son of a bitch."
We started talking that night and were friends from then on. Had she not met me face to face I would imagine she would still be saying nasty things about me.
My impression of Scott isn't good but I am open to being wrong.
Hu
I'll second this.Jim is actually a really nice well spoken guy, if you ever get the chance to meet him.
One of the few "pool people" I actually like...lol
I agree. I thought Scott did good. I just think announcers should have a bit more of a gregarious and friendly personality and Scott didn't. I think his analysis is great, but right now he seems more appealing to the hardcore pool crowd. I think MC announcers need to be more relatable to a broader audience. I also think most people don't understand how hard announcing well is. The camera and microphone magnify any flaws in delivery that you would not notice talking to somebody in person.Karl Boyes IMO is the most natural of the commentators
I thought Scott did a great job. If Matchroom continues with this event, which I imagine they will for the short term, I'd be curious to see if they bring him back next year for more commentary.
Rarely do I reply to my own post, but I enjoyed Scott's tone of voice, simplicity of explanation and delivery of his point of view. Not knocking' or saying he's good or bad.... but Few/if any pool players have the right ''stuff''.
None that I know of have gotten an education and training in classrooms at a university to develop their/this trade.
Very few on camera announcers that HAVE schooling.... make it in the real world/period.
Your local news casters are a perfect example, and I'm sure you don't like ''all of em''.
Some are good, some are GREAT and some are just another pretty face.
If you look at all the NFL players and coaches etc that have done their part/coming and going in announcing and on camera live.... very few are great at their trade.
And that's the way it is.
