Thanks for the pics, very nice cue, the birdseye maple, the honey stain, and the veneers in particular (beautiful joint protectors, too). Question on the last pic, if I may: does the extension lightly scratch the bottom of the butt plate there?

Greetings from Switzerland, David.

I'm certain it does, just like the way the shaft screws into the joint, it
is a compression fit to be "ultra" solid. The extension is machined in such
a manner that the rubber butt cap bumper actually acts as an O-ring,
much like the way an old Centennial case is built for a solid connection.

Mike builds them to hit balls, not be cue case queens. ;)

Beautiful Cue,
"All it needs now is some chalk
Mikes cues are thoroughbred players"

I went to a pool clinic on Saturday the 9th at Paradise Billiards in Corpus Christi
looking forward to chalking my "Lamboti" and hitting some balls with it.

I decided like a new ship, it needed a christening, a blessing by
the pope, or some sh!t like that so I was not the first one to hit
balls with it.

Nick Varner put the first chalk on it then pocketed two balls like he
was firing an RPG and said "this hits solid", then he handed it over to
Buddy Hall who did the same thing, and Buddy said "who made this ?"

They were both impressed. Then later on Nick and Buddy
tried the extension, and they really liked that.

Impossible to keep one's paws off, right?

Well done! ;) They're both such great guys, too.

By the way, since you are one of the few to have owned both an Ultra Joint and an Ultra Joint II cue from Lambros, any "impressions" on the difference (i.e. hit, feel, fit, other thoughts…)? Never saw, let alone tried an Ultra II-jointed one myself.

Greetings from Switzerland, David.

The only real difference is that the Ultra II starts making that squeeking
(compression) sound about 2 turns before the Ultra I. It takes more
grip to unscrew a II than a I, however I notice no difference in the hit.

Not being an engineer like Mike, my guess is that once the joint connection
compresses, the degree in which it is compressed really doesn't matter
with cues unlike the explosions in compressed gas :D

Here is the one of the best hitting cues I have ever played with and that one cue that will never be sold.

Intriguing with those blue veneers and the burl - bet this looks even better in real than photographed.

Rackrunner: Still can't thank you enough for selling me a "Magic Wand" that has been my primary player for the last couple of years. The only other cue I play with is an 1992 Ebony nosed Southwest. The Lambros cue still moves the ball around the table with less effort than the Southwest. Lambros cues = Finesse, Fit & Finish, balance and Power wrapped up into one cue.
