... Charlie Conlon (the guy that whacked you for the Ann Arbor Nine Ball Championship) had one too.
Really, you had to go there?:grin:

I would say the cue is a Viking. When you blow up the picture you can see the long metal to metal joint like was used on Vikings. I think they called it their super joint.

I sent a message to Palmer showing her this thread and asking about the Palmer, if that's what she used. Stay tuned for an update on her cue if I get a response.

You're right but she sure looks a lot like a young Cher. Same face and body but Cher had a great voice as well.
It's not a Palmer cue.
It's not a Viking cue.
The following information comes directly from Palmer Byrd via a good friend of mine - Palmer said the cue in the photo is a National. She said National Chalk made cues for a while & it was given to her as a gift.
She loved the photo - she has never seen it before.
Absolutely. Madelyn was married to Al, and way younger than him, must have been his baby face that trapped her.

Madelyn lives here in Phoenix, she come in my room with Alton. A few years later I coached her for a while. She went on to win the Women's seniors event in Vegas. She talked about Palmer several times.

I'm surprised Baby-Face Al is still around. I have an old buddy who regularly sparred with Al in Detroit, many years ago. He would be absolutely stunned to find out that Al still visits the pool room (although I'm sure he doesn't play much any more).
Al cannot be alive. He was old when I knew him and I was young then and I'm kinda old now.

Thanks

Palmer....what an interesting and wonderful name..
..very unusual as a first name for a female.
The name dates back to the Crusades and maybe even longer.
It denotes someone who had been to the Holy Land and returned with
a palm leaf.
..hardly pool related but I figure some serious readers, like Todd Riley, might
find it interesting.
