You might tell your friend and most of the others on this thread that they could become an azb member and support the site anytime they like. Only $35 for all the time they spend here.

i just whipped the 35 bux to join-up. everybody who uses this site on any sort of regular basis ought to send Az some $ to improve the only true pool-junkie forum. BTW, i finally won a raffle last nite. got a sweet Josey sp comin.

Ciub membership is a choice that some people make and some don't.
Brian is one of the best people I know, and he works 3-jobs to support his family.
I don't need to tell him what to do, he is the salt of the earth in my opinion.
If Brian wants to become a club member he will do so.
If you want to turn this into another club member debate go right ahead and knock yourself out.

Nope don't want to do that. Just a little tacky to complain about something in a rude fashion he isn't paying a nickle for. it was his choice to complain and my choice to comment on it.. That's what happens on a free forum.

It has been a little slow lately. But bottom line this site to a pool player is the best thing since sliced bread. Gives me so much to look forward to every morning. Just wanted to take time to say thanks. Skip :thumbup:

I don't know who the ISP for the server is, but doing a ping at a command prompt to AZB results in the 90ms to 120ms. Keep in mind this is only 32 bytes of data, nowhere near the amount of data that would be transmitted from the site to your pc and back again. Not terrible but with the amount of ppl on here at any one time it can reek havoc, esp. when ppl try to refresh the page they are on time and again to try and get it to load. If the server uses NPG for the ISP then there is the problem. I did a connection test(more of a real world test then a ping) at speedtest.net to their ISP and pings are always at 260ms or higher, I even had it time out on me twice. Since doing these tests I just wait for the page to load, I encourage everyone to do the same as it will take alot of the load off the server.

Not rude, just honest.
I don't think Brian's comment was rude at all.
If the loading problem wasn't an issue this thread would not of been started in the first place.
Brian's comment was accurate, and he has a right to say exactly how he's feeling.
Even you stated that this is a free forum.
It took me a while to realize that the problem was on the forum side, not my computer, and that did get a little old after a while.
You're right, it's a "free" forum, and club membership has nothing to do with this thread.
I'm glad you mentioned it though because my club membership expired in the middle of the night.
It's a good thing I had a few shekels in my paypal account.

if it's any help, the site seems to bog down after clicking on about 5 threads, and then gets worse from there.

I've been a club member since club membership started.
I'm glad that you approve of my support for AZ Billiards.
 
just like i said in the other thread yes, the software appears to be bogged down, or there is a bandwidth problem, or perhaps the server needs tuned up. what ever is wrong is not that difficult for the right person who knows what they are doing to fix, less than 4 hours work-i'm sure of that.
 
Hoping to transition to a new host tonight. And hoping that will solve the problems.
