A nice place to visit is Airway Billiards on Needmore Rd. They have weekly tournaments on Monday's and Wednesday's and tournaments every Saturday. I don't know of any APA leagues although there may be some. I know we have BCA and VNEA leagues though.

Cool, I checked the APA site and it says there is a league for Greene and Montgomery counties...unless that's outdated. I played BCA for a short while before it went away down here...wouldn't mind getting into that as well. As for VNEA, I know nothing about that...

Wow, that is interesting. I live in Greene County and I'm not aware of an APA league around here. I wonder where it is in Greene County?

Not sure, here is the website... http://daytonapa.com

It doesn't look like it is frequented much, so I don't know how active the league is in the area...

Anyone else up there? Would love to get together and play sometime. I've never actually met another person from AZB :)

You never will actually meet anyone from AZ. You see, it's really just one guy who types under hundreds of different aliases. No one has ever seen him, but I think his real name is Mike.

P.S. I'm Mike too :D

Thanks Dave!

Anyone who's interested, here's an email I got from Stepenie Hurst the Division Manager for Dayton APA.

--The APA is very new here in Dayton Ohio. The summer session will be starting June 3rd or June 16th. We will be going to a 3-man format for the summer with a minimum of 4 players on each team. In the fall it will go back to the 5-man team.

Division 042 is going to be closest to you it consists of 2 pool halls using 9' tables. I am expecting around 8 3-man teams for the summer session starting on June 3rd.

Division 031 is in the Belmont area which is about a 15 minute drive from the base. This division has 1 pool hall with 8' tables and several bars with 7' coin tables. They will be starting on June 16th and I will be expecting around 8 teams for that division as well.

There will be a new division starting in the middle of July. The new divisions generally starts out smaller about 4-6 teams. You can visit our website Daytonapa.com. If you click on the "Where We Play" on the left side and then select Dayton Ohio you can see our current host locations and there relationship to the AFB. I will be adding more locations soon. You can register your team online or by phone. If you are a single player then call me so I can match you to the best team.

When do you expect to move?

Welcome to Dayton

There is no better place in Dayton than Tod and Hal's Airway. Great people, action, food, and some fabulous history.

True, true, and don't forget, the most hotly contested
partners 'funpocket' game in the free world.

All you need to know - If Jay still lived in Dayton, Airway is where
he would hang out.<Forest Park has been gone for years>

Yea dayton is ok, there some pretty good players here. not really any action though. youre not going to win anything unless youre an a player basically. airway is pretty much dead. valley street is a good place to hit balls around, cheapest time an prob the best playing tables. Dont go to gloden cue... that place is a ghost town an tables play bad. There also backstreet in springfield and michaels in cin. which arent too far away from here. they are gonna have the most action.
