When i first started building, i decided to keep records of who bought , and what price i got for each cue. That has changed a bit, because of internet sells. But i do keep records of each cue, what woods are used, weight, tip, shaft, rings, prongs. inlays, wraps, just a brief description so i can remeber each cue.

to date i have converted, or built from blanks, or built from scratch,,,,,

419 cues, not bad for a part time builder

I wish I had done that. But unfortunately I did not. I know a cuemaker who started back in the 80s a few years before I started and he took pictures and made a photo album with details about every cue he built.

Hi,

For my custom orders I send my customers 20 to 30 progress pics of their cue being built using my phone. When the cue is done I take finish pics with my good camera.

So I have an photo archive of all my custom cues attached the the owner's name.

Richard Black does this (or did). I have talked to him and his wife and they pulled out a little index card box and looked up the cues I had him make me as far back as 1978.

Of my 28 yrs I've filled out a 8 x 10 form with 24 lines of info, a sketch of the Q & a seperate sheet with measurements of the shaft. Also since 2000 I have taken pics of each new Q...JER

I do. I have records stored in the computer and a print out in a binder. I take pics of the cues in stages and either send them to the customer or post them on the site.
