He trained under Kersenbrock? Cue hit well? I am in the process of buying a maple plain jane, with some decent rings... that's "like new" for around $300. What do you think?
Peace,
Jeff

i was bidding on one on ebay and saw this morning that the seller closed the auction and deleted all bids, some bs reason, too bad looked like a sweet cue

there was a nice one on ebay with points.. looks nice.. but not knowing anything about him or able to confirm the story kept me from bidding on it as well...

Joel lives in tulsa OK area I was at his shop months back . I don't know much about his cues but from what I understood he made a few cues years ago maybe 10 years back and stopped maybe??? ( not 100% with that info) and know he is retooling to make cues again from what I saw.

Thats as much or as little I know of Joel Weinstock

:D :D

HI Jeff,

You are welcome to give Joel a call at 918-744-1808 in Tulsa. I'm sure he can answer any questions you have...his basic cue with no point starts at about $400.00.

I'm telling you this guy make one heck of a cue and I've owned a lot of cues in the past 10 years to know the difference. There something about the way his cues hit that give it a signature of it own.

Joel is in the process of making me some really nice full splice sneeky pete and he just designed a cue that will have both laminated butt and shaft...that will play like a canon. Can't wait to try out this cue when it arrives.

Regards,
Duc.

I played with the laminated cue @ Joels shop 2 weeks ago, and it really plays great!

Yeah...I bought it.
Still...Anyone know about Weinstock's???
Joel is in Tulsa, Ok.
Started building cues in the late 80's. Stopped in the late 90's to pursue Real Estate.
Started back up 2-3 years ago.
Every cue I have tried has played great.;)

I have a plain maple cue of his with black handle that I can sell for $200. It has his own version of the radial pin in it, wood to wood joint.

I also have a house cue convreted sneaky of his that I can sell for $150. This one is 14 thread piloted in straight black phenolic collars.

can you email me pics of this one???

I've owned 4 of Joel's cues and had him work on 3 other cues i've had. He does excelent repair work one of the cues was a Norwela a friend had given me it was broken in half about an inch below the joint and he did a jam up job on it, looked like nothing had ever happened to the thing, thank god! Anyway as stated above Joel's cues have their own signature hit; stiff cue similar to a southwest, they have a nice precise crisp hit to them. Honestly I love them and dont think you could get me to play with anything else again...but thats just my two cents. If you want a cue that plays slow or with alot of vibration and a whippy shaft buy a meucci, if you want one that hits as crisp as can be and feels like it was made for pocketing perfection pick one up and in my opinion you shouldnt be disappointed.

my 2 cents worth

Greetings , Let me say this , I was contracted to build some cues for Duc using the points provided by him, which I did and was not aware that he was going to be selling these as Weinstock cues , for the record I did not make the points on these cues and they had some issues that had to be worked with , I generally do not like to use veneers due to the soft nature of the material most of my cues will be built with no veneers or will have inlays only , every now and then I will take a Titilist and do a conversion job , I have been tooling up for over 2 years now and have recently completleted building 2 cnc machines and will be forthcoming with some really good stuff [thank God] what a learning curve , so for the record , most of my cues will be made without veneers unless it is ivory , I hired Kersenbrock back in the late 80s to help me when he was starting up the Omega DPK line up North , this can be confirmed be David Himself and he will confirm this to be true ,

Hello there,

Did you sign these cues?

SDF

Hi,

No ...Joel W did not sign the cue and yes the part were supplied by me for joel to build the cue for me. Jeol W cue hit amazing dispite the lower quality blanks that I've provided him.

As a novice I thought these short splice blanks were really good given that the forearm had tight birdeye maple on them and they did turn out beautiful except for the gap in the veneers. However, I wasn't aware that the gap in the veneer would be an issue until Joel turn them down. Jeol pointed out the issue to me but I requested that he finish them because I still liked the maple forearm in the short splice. I was personally more interested in how the cue play and did not think the gap would be an issue and it wasn't.

I was calling the 5 sample cues as "Weinstock" cue because he did put them together and I wanted to credit him for his amazing construction of these cues. However, after having some Azmember critize the point, I did apologized to Joel that I should have made it clear that the short blanks were not his and was the one that I've supplied to him to fabricate the cue for me.

The buska that he build for me hit amazing and it's so well balance. All the pro in Canada that have tried this cue gave really great feedback and comments on this cue. Joel Make one heck of a playing cues and I really looking forward to him make more for me in the future with higher quality blanks that I will be getting in December...these are all oversize and perfect!!

I'm sure he was be happy to sign his name of these blanks once he finish with them.

Regards,
Duc.
