Howdy All;

Why bring up Curling on a pool forum ya'll be askin'. Well, seems pool gets mentioned
fairly often by the commentators. Hmmm ya might vocalize while rubbing your chin :unsure:
Not sure about ya'll but there are a bunch of folks that watch that stuff. Maybe some of
the major sponsorship folks might want to expand their horizons and that of pool's ?

Hey, i'm down with any game you can play and drink at same time. ;)

I think the match clock idea in Curling is a grand idea.

If pro pool would adopt such a strategy, it would go a long way towards legitimizing our game.

It would curb stalling and slow play, make tournament match times consistent, and scheduling would be predictable. All in all, dare I say these changes would make pool more watchable and marketable?

I remember reading that some top curlers cross train with pool. Though, I do notice that their understanding of the angles aren’t quite up to the same standard of pool/snooker players. I’ve watched them line up the aiming points a few times where I knew it wasn’t going to work out the way they thought. Same with the commentators drawing on the screen. I just thought it was interesting. But it’s pretty impressive to hit those aiming points so accurately from such a distance.

Cameron Smith, Howdy;

Exactly my point, the announcers keep mentioning how the Curlers enjoy pool as a training aid. Personally,
I think they might do better with 3-C but, I'll keep that under my hat. chuckle.

It’s funny there are old threads in this topic here. I’m too lazy to look them up, but they exist. Funny how pool players have this odd fascination with curling.

I have not watched a single minute of the Olympics. Probably will do the same with the Super Bowl. I don't like China or the NFL, so I see no reason to watch. I do have a question though. How does a city that has on average 1 inch of snow per year get a winter Olympics?

Well the Olympic Athlets work their behinds off to make team. Parent sacrifice. Yes China is hosting, and not being good host.

Some events are if intrest to me so I watch, and root for USA.

NFL is 🐂💩, too much politics, pc .🐂💩.

Like the Super Zbowl Vimmercisl better then most game, rumor is if you woke, into BLM, and politically correct you should love…..half time show.

🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Personally, I love watching curling. I can watch it for hours at a time. It shares a lot with pool as far as angle management concepts, but most shots qualify as masse shots as there is a curve involved. To me, the strategizing is fascinating and there's a lot of variety in the game.

Yes, I'm sold on curling.

I enjoy all sports to an extent. It's amazing what people can do. I don't like boxing anymore, I used to. Same with football. My neighbor is a vegetable in his late 50s from football. The millions he made were not worth it.

I know another player who quit young but the damage was done. He used to come in my poolroom when he played on the Dolphins. He lives in a nursing facility now and has the mind of a child.

One game I can't watch is Cricket.
