This really surprises me. Having played in at least 3 events per year, that were majors over a twenty year period I NEVER missed a match by doing this. I ALWAYS carried a battery powered clock, I'd set the room clock if there was one, and I'd also call the front desk to set me up for my morning wake up call.
I'm very interested in seeing what caused this, but my first thoughts were, I hope he's ok and nothing family or health wise came into play.

I would think he would set a alarm on his phone and that people would be calling him if he was late. Too bad for Darren.
