Archer's extension

Do any of you know what type of cue extension Johnny Archer uses? It is different than any of the types I have seen for sale.

Archer uses a Hager extension. They stopped producing them, but from what I understand, they are once again producing them. Do a Google search and type in Hager cue extension as a keyword.

Hope this helps.

Don't tell anyone I told you this! Next time you go into a thrift store or a pawnshop, look around for old vacuum cleaners. The long piece that fits on the end and just presses on is usually a great size for a pool cue extension. Many of them will slip snugly on the end of your cue and offer a nice firm extension, anywhere from 12-18 inches in length. I've bought a couple (one was free and one was $1) and they work fine! Remember keep it under your hat!

They do not answer the phone, e-mails, or process orders. Hager that is! Nick Varner was selling the Hager Extension with the "NV" LOGO, they are out of stock also of all sizes.

Maybe someone else will buy the rights to the Hager Extension, and start builng em again.

Dont worry I'll keep it to myself and the other 1,666 people that logged on to here today!!!! J/K :thumbup:

in the middle of May I talked to John Hager, he said they were in the process of moving and will resume business in the next 30-90 days and the extenders will be available again.

On a similar note, I wonder if Gulyassy or however you spell his name will start to market the super long and heavy cue that Earl shoots with. I certainly want to give it a try

You'll need a Thule roof rack for your car to take it home, though.

In line with Jay's suggestion of a vacuum cleaner tube, I had a Hager extension that seemed tight on my cue and couldn't adjust it any wider. So I went to Home Depot and bought a 12" PVC pipe extension, put a soft sock in it to cushion my cue and it worked perfectly. I think the extension was around $2 or $3 dollars. I may pick up a cheap piece of thin leather and contact cement it to the extension for esthetic reasons - would look pretty cool.

nice idea, but I wouldn't stand behind that. I used to break with an old McDermott j/b, and it was perfect in every aspect but one: it had the same McD long-threaded screw for second joint. So I hated every time I had to use it as a jump stick. Same time it took me unscrewing it and screwing back Tony Drago would run a rack, LOL! So unless it is a quick release joint, it has little sence, you need an extension just for one shot, and in your example you need to make joining and separating 3 times!

Guys, don't rush to say Hager is done. I have heard they are just moving, so expect them to be back operating by the end of the year.

That was posted for the guy who wanted to try a 70 inch cue

I really really like this idea. I'd imagine you were to leave them on there all the time though instead of breaking down in a match which is loss or forfeit in some tours.
