I found this pool hall via a google search. It is bar far the nicest pool room that I have ever heard of. With all of the discussion about the declining pool industry, I was wondering how this place is faring. Any one been there? I suspect that players in my area would balk about paying $18 an hour. I wouldn't mind every now and then if I had an enviorment like that, but that's just me...

I have been there and enjoyed myself, but you don't really get the pool hall feeling when you are there. Hard to explain, but it just doesn't feel like a players room. Dr. Cues, about 20 minutes to the northwest from Parlor, is the players room for that area.
 
I paid $12.50 an hour in Atlanta, once. I think the poolroom was in Buckhead or Peachtree. I was playing for twenty a game with a guy who'd just got off work. He blows a little over two hundred in less than an hour. I don't remember him ever running more than four balls. He was buying everyone drinks and getting killed. I was amazed. This was in the eighties when I first realized I could make a ball. I thought I'd found my calling. But, back to ECU I went. Good decision.

I've been there... but it's been a while back... winter of '06 (?) not too long after it opened. It's located in a very upscale area of Seattle... in downtown Bellevue... which is due east of downtown Seattle... just on the east side of Lake Washington (which separates Seattle from Bellevue). There's plenty of money there... and lots of 20-somethings to fill the place on Friday and Saturday nights.

FWIW, I didn't like it. The drinks were way too expensive and the backdrop of shooting towards the windows was WAY too bright during the daytime... even in gray Seattle.

It's not for the serious Seattle-area pool players... there's been Dr. Cues... and now there's Russian Dave's place, The Golden Fleece... featuring ten (10) 9-foot Diamond Pro Ams with tournament blue cloth and set up by Glen (RKC). Dave's place is low-key and perfect for the player in all of us. ;)

I've been there a few times, and it's to cater to the Bellevue yuppies, not pool players....

You honestly think a "pool player" would pay $18/hr for table time and $5+ per drink?? HAHA!! They ***** about dollar beers and $2.50/hr time as it is!!!

Same here. I went in once with my wife and it was not busy. I also got the feeling that serious players don't go there much. Maybe a little too high class atmosphere, but then again, it is in Bellevue. ;) The location is the top floor of a small mall. Great playing tables with plenty of room. They also have a snooker table and a private playing room. The staff is well dressed and they greet you at the door and escort you to your table. Edit: Great bar and food too.
