I don't even know what was posted here, or what the reply was because i didn't get to read either of them. I just wanted to say that it was nice to see a public apology in this forum. I am so accustomed to everyone attacking each other, that this was very refreshing to see. maybe we could all learn something from this, and settle some of our differences.

this is what i meant, about everyone being nasty about and to each other. i tried to make something good out of this thread, and it goes right back to being negative. this is the attitude that makes me wonder sometimes why i collect cues.

That's just plane silly, why would anything said here have any impact on you personally? If you're collecting cues to fit in here or to impress people I'd say you're doing it for the wrong reasons. As far as Icon and his apology goes, he didn't mean it, he has done this no less then 20 times since he's been here, he posts something damaging to get attention then he chickens out and pulls it. It doesn't matter if he thinks about it and decides it was the wrong thing to say because it's already been read and mailed to many people and the damage is already done. The real problem is that people take what others say here to mean something, when in fact people need to read here for fun and take things with a grain of salt. Please don't let this stuff run your life and please don't collect cues for anyone but yourself.

the caps are off, does that make you feel better(i hope you wouldn't use purple, but you do) maybe i phrased it wrong by saying everyone bashes each other, but i can say that it happens frequntly. i was going to reply to your post in sections, but changed my mind. i'm just gonna reply and let you section it off.

what is posted here doesn't make me want to collect or not collect, but it makes me not want to associate with the people that are negative all the time. we all have different feelings about different people, and that happens. jeff made a public apology and i thought that was a nice gesture. that was all i was trying to say. i felt it was very negative for someone to make a negative post about someone apologizing. i'm not expecting to read only positve posts, or posts just blowing sunshine up someone's ass. i understand, that will never happen. i am a positive person, and like associating with other positive people. pesimistic and negative people make me miserable. i'm sure i'm not the only person that feels that way. i actually enjoy differing opinions, but doubting an apology isn't about differing opinions, it's just being negative.

p.s. you asked what choices i've made in my collection that were mistakes. i'll give you one exampl. i've lost 800 selling a cue just to have the money to overpay about 200 for a cue i really wanted. i have an addiction, and i'm ok with it. i feel most collectors wouldn't have done what i did, just to get a cue.

Oh yes we would!

I haven't had to sell at a loss to raise cash but I've knowingly overpaid on some of my cues by 25% - 30% to get an example I wanted. But, then again, I've also bought for well under the market too on most - so I can't complain. I think we'll all pay up when we want something bad enough.

Don't feel bad. I think we are all pretty much the same.

Way easier on the eyes without the caps! I enjoy your posts and your dogged determination to put together a large collection of Tascarella cues. I also value your opinion on various types of cues Pete builds. In your opinion describe the difference in hit between Pete's piloted ivory joint with steel insert and his flat face 3/8-10 pin ivory joint? Thanks.

Pete's cues are virtually unknown here in LA area. I've never seen a player with one here.

thanks for the compliments. the hit of the two cues is vastly different. the piloted joint has a stiff steel type hit to it. the flat faced gives more feel and feedback in my opinion. i'm not a monster player, just a cue collector that plays alot. most other players will tell you the same thing though. i prefer the softer hit of the 3/8 10, but it's just my preferance. keep in mind that pete does various tapers, and that will drasticly change, the hit/feel of the cue.

agreed, i just wasn't sure how to word it. why put metal between 2 pieces of wood when it's not needed. all it does is deaden the hit.
