Are you (AZers) 4balls or 3C players???

Are you (AZers) 4balls or 3C players???
Worked at the 211 Club in Seattle for 20 years. John Teerink R.I.P. was in the top 10 in rankings more than once. He had the purest stroke I have ever seen. There were quite a few 3C players in there years ago. They were quite a different group from the pool players. Very seldom did they play for cash. John did when challenged. Never saw him lose a money game.

I have been playing 3 cushion exclusively for a few years now. I don't even play pool anymore, outside of the rare times a table wasn't available and I played pocket while I waited for a table to open up.

I am a 3Cer, love the way the ball holds spin off cushions and the impossible nature of it. But no local table so just play online these days.

If 4balls was good Sang Lee ... Why aren't USA starting our Youth off on playing Korean / Japan 4 Balls?? Wait The Money from USBA only go for 3C Billiard players . Which is why I'm not USBA Member and #1 Non USBA Member!!!. But only promoted Non USBA Tournament

It might be hard to get the 12 serious USA 4ball players in the same place at the same time .

Not sure why you continuously trash the usba.

I've been away from the USBA for many years.
Maybe there's been a change recently but from my experience they place put their money on promoting the top players.
There's no effort money wise or anywise to promote the game.
No youth programs.
No clinics to the pool public.
Nothing outside of funding the costs of sending 2 players to the Worlds and PanAm.

Of course they don't have much money, but how do you get more members if you never try to entice new players to join.

The only reason to join is so you can participate in a Qualifier for the Nationals.

That's their Marketing Plan. Hold a bunch of National Qualifiers in the hope to generate additional income from the Pool Community.
To support Hugo and Pedro or ???

The USBA does very little, like nothing, to bring in new players much less introduce young players to take a look.

I'd say their business plan says nothing about growing the business, if it does somewhere, they don't know how to execute that plan.

There's a few reasons for billiardshot's ire toward the Organization.

Appreciate the comments and can't disagree entirely.

Could it be that an international presence is akin to the win-Sunday/ sell-Monday? (Please disregard the lack of win-Sunday!).

I am not sure the org's inability to match other country's growth is a matter of mission or leadership. Same with pool, right?

I own one out of the approx 50 billiard tables in all of New England, and maybe one out of 2 or 3 on the South Coast. The only public place to play will now be in Peabody Mass, with 4 tables, which is 2 hours drive.

It is too hard to get to tables to practice or to get to tournament venues for any carom event, let alone 4 ball. Unless you are retired with nothing to do with your weekends, competing isn’t going to happen.

For myself, I like all the games… 3C, 1C, balkline, straight rail, 4 ball, 235, 5-pins, etc
