Are you worthless without your playing cue ?

I'll play with just about anything that has a decent tip. I don't need a special cue. The net worth of my game stays the same.

Hah!
The old Schon has a more playable taper and makes it easier to pocket and stroke ?

I have a Mcdermott with a G-Core shaft and a 1 6 month old Schon, I like the Mcdermott taper better, it stays the same diameter farther down the shaft away from tip.
I suck equally bad with any cue, if I dont have time to practice with an unfamiliar cue I just dont use as much side spin (I dont use a lot to begin with anyway)

I never felt I played better with my own cue because it was better but more so because I am use to it. Of course, I am still interested in playing with something i somewhat believe in giving the playing capabilities I think are beneficial. But it is more so, because of not being use to it. And it could a self fulling prophecy...but i do think I play better with my cue.

I'm pretty much worthless regardless (age thing) but I definitely am more comfortable playing with my Olney. The cue and its hit are familiar to me and that makes a huge difference, especially with cue ball control.

You know the one you play with and really like.

Say you had to play with another cue, are you close to being worthless ?
Unless, of course you spend a lot more time with that cue ?

Yes.

And with the new ivory ban, I will no longer be able to take it to International tournaments........

Interesting question. I rank my cues, and definately have a few favorites that I play better with .... the second ranked cues are fine, I just need to either adjust or not play big swerves/siding etc. By the time I get to the lowest ranked cues on my rack my game is definately a ball or two worse.

BTW, my cues playing rank does not corrispond to custom/factory or price.

I typically get a new/used cue and put an Elkmaster on it so most if not all my cues have the same tip.
