The videotaped finals of the Desert Classic Tour (Stop #2) is now up on the website. This was an 8 ball tournament on 9' tables. Just click on the multimedia link at www.desertclassictour.com and you will see the video link for stop #2.

If anyone watches, Jimmy Mendoza and i would appreciate any constructive criticism or advice in the future regarding video production and/or commentary ideas. We are still in the learning stages when it comes to this area. Hope you all enjoy it. Additonal matches from this tournament will be posted soon.

Oh, i can also take the criticism on my play. Feel free to offer any advice. :)

Just a reminder, the next stop is June 21/22, at Kolby's in Tempe. This will be the Arizona State 14.1 Championships (1K added).

The commentary is our tournament director, Bull Vankerkwyk and Mitch Ellmerman. I forgot to mention in the original post, you can view it in full screen as well.

thanks for posting, I enjoyed the finals. but I have one thing to say. the camera position could've been better. Same angel, just little more up imo.

just like how accu-stats take their main shot. or TAR. Thanks!

To view it in fullscreen, click the little box-looking icon just to the right of the volume control.

Also, keep in mind that the page itself is under construction and will have a new look soon. Is the size of the video okay for everyone?

thanks, we will try to work on that. I noticed TAR has a nice boom type mount that extends over the table. Pretty high dollar i would assume.

Nice vids! I got a sore neck from tilting my head while watching them though;):D Keep up the good work!:)

Great job. Reps to you.

On the constructive criticism...when you picture these videos being watched in 10-20 years do you think you would want to see the wider view with some of the fans, players watching or do you think the table is the only thing you want to see? If it's the table option, would you like to see more of the player in the shots, for stance, manerisms, etc.? I feel that it is zoomed in just a little too tight, although it does give a great shot of the table. JMO Either way it's a great addition to your site and pool archives!! Thanks to all who were part of providing this.

I liked the play of that young lad. The video quality is real good, and full screen ability is a plus.

Dennis & Jimmy,
I had a very high quality picture on my end. I thought the commentators did a good job of paying attention to the match. Best wishes to you guys with your tour...:)

I'm glad you like the quality. We shelled out a good chunk of our own money for a camera to record the matches in hi-def. They look even better on dvd when played through a hi def or blu ray player. I think some of the quality gets lost in the conversion stage.

We will try to work on the angle problems. Maybe that's why i miss balls, my head must be a little crooked. I thought i had it mounted straight. Guess not. :)

Nice. But I would also like to see the first match that they played...........

Video and audio look great. I really like video in the flash format. I will figure that out one day.

The crane we use is a Kessler Crane. I researched prosumer cranes for a couple of weeks and they provided the best solution for us. One of the best things we ever bought. We have the 8 foot model and altogether with tripod, head. monitor and all the other gear it was around $1500.

You guys look like you have it figured out, great job. If you have any questions about gear I might be able to help, I have spent a ton of time researching it. Good luck with the site.

Now that tripod is cool,no wonder you guys have to drive to these places, you got a literal ton of gear!I personally carry eveything in a backpack. :)

Nice video, a few minor changes as mentioned above, but looks great.

The titty kick shot on the 3 at 21:35 of the first video is freakin awesome! Lucky I'd say, but freakin awesome!

Oh snap, he did it again at the end of the video after he lost!!! Set it up and knocked it in! Funny as hell. Well, to me anyway.

I was just in the process of typing that to you. He does it again at the end of the video. He is actually pretty high percentage on that shot and practices it regularly. Still some luck involved though. :) Thanks for watching. We will try to iron out some of the errors we made from these two events. Unfortunately, we were limited on some equipment.
