Arizona Open (CSI Predator US Pro Billiard Series) 28-31 July, (10 Ball/9 ft table) Winner $13K

Very strange format here, following in the footsteps of the World Pool Championship, which randomized the results by using really easy equipment. CSI has randomized the results with this silly two races to four format. The top guys are very vulnerable here, but I still expect the cream to rise to the top. On paper, the cream is Gorst and Biado, and I still suspect that one of them will win the event.
It's weird how no matter what the format is the best players seem to end up in the finals. I believe it's all about the pressure as you get close to winning the whole thing. Some guys can handle it and some can't.

Well, I'm all done "watching" this. I got to see about half a game between Gorst and Styer when Gorst was shooting at the nine and it cut to........nothing! Just a logo on the screen and some bad music. I think Predator needs to find a new streamer because there are sixteen year old kids that could do a better job! It was nice to hear Jeremy's voice, albeit briefly. I didn't really see any of the so called "bounce" problems with the rails that people had complained about on here, but like I said I was only able to watch a couple of minutes before the stream quit on me. The Predator table kind of looks like a Diamond clone. Who knows, maybe Diamond made it for them. Predator set the bar awfully low with this inaugural event. Frankly that surprises me that they would produce such an amateurish looking event.

Jay, you're not alone in your troubles with this stream. It has been awful for me at times -- buffering, freezing, garbled audio, and commercials starting up quite often in the middle of games and playing over and over.

The music is not only bad, its a crime!!! whoever made that music for them should seriously find a new hobby. I MUTE in the same second that music appears, I must mute or else I go insane.

Semifinals Saturday: Biado vs. Gomez at 3 pm and Gorst vs. Geronimo at 5 pm (Tucson time)

I also had ginormous problems with the stream during gorst/styer. So much that I just turned it off.

I think this format and the shot clock is making the players have bad nerves. Most seem to be playing well below their skill level. Even Toasty and Gomez on some racks looked like a couple of APA-5's going back and forth.

Tkach is a very straight shooter, but like most females, generally play rather slow. She likes to pause a bit when down on her stroke, but if hurried I can easily see that messing up her fundamentals. Same with Tyler.

I agree they’re playing below their peak ability but still think it’s been exciting and a fun watch

I wish in the shootouts the spotted ball changed location for each players try 1, try 2, try 3, try 4 etc

current shootout format is kinda a snooze imo but has resulted in some upsets which I like

All I can say is: SAME SHIT DIFFERENT DAY. Pool is in the toilet and shall remain there forever. I'm an engineer. I deal in facts not hopes and dreams.

Why on Earth does it seem to be that hard to put the final scores in the tournament bracket? So that one could see at least whether the match went down to a shoot-out or not. Let alone be aware of the set scores.
It is not the way "Pro" tournaments are supposed to be run. The game of pool is not going to get anywhere if the promoters keep on not giving a damn about providing proper info to the audience.

I was thinking the same, and my guess is that it’s the stupid format. The software is probably set up for “9-7” types of scores, not “4-2, 3-4, 4-3 shootout” types of scores.

Didn't Appleton's event have a shootout? I forget. Does anyone know why his events disappeared? I think he quit before Corona was an issue.
Darren's events had a different kind of shootout. There were five different shots each player had to shoot, and the one who made more of them won the match, I liked that better than this type of shootout, in which the spot shot is played over and over and over,
