Attempt to Reverse the Dumbing Down

It has come to my attention via Patrick Johnson's recent thread that more and more idiots now have access to the internet, thus precipitating flame wars and other behavior typical of idiots.

In an attempt to reverse this trend, I offer the following photo taken yesterday during a day trip to the new Whitney museum.

Man Ray, La Fortune, 1938, Oil on Linen.

P.S. If you have to ask why there are no pockets, you are an idiot and need not reply.

It seems like the colors of the clouds are supposed to represent pool ball colors... if so, he forgot to add a brown and black cloud.

To stop the dumbing down if someone ask a question stop being that guy that comes in and goes "use the search function" either I did and didn't get the answer or stop looking and wasting your time to comment

Hey, what a coincidence. We have a field trip scheduled there, for next week. Mr. Howerton said to be sure and get to the parking lot early so we don't miss the bus.

A statement of mankind's frustration with nature and his inability to rule it. The clouds represent the myriad of feelings that surround a man's attempts at godlike behaviors. Each cloud addresses an attempt at mastery of the physical world. Imbued within the artist's work are all of humankind's emotions each represented by a cloud unnaturally colored by our incessant role as the failed destroyer of something much bigger than we could possibly hope to leash. Hope. Love. Anger. Sadness. Beauty. Lonliness. Billiards.

This post needs the mood to be set: a beret, a cigarette smouldering, a wooden stool and a spotlight. Oh, and replace all the periods in your post with exclamation points. Dig it?

We need RKC to level the table.

Whaddiya mean I don't understand art?

That's deep

There was some artist in the forum awhile back who was working on a pool table painting and getting feedback from the forum. Anybody know if he ever posted the final painting?

I am to dumb to understand this but it sounds really nice. Carry on.

Well, if you go to the link I provided with the audio clip, they basically say they have no clue what the hell this painting is supposed to mean.
Well, here is another work by the artist that clearly shows he was an advocate of the pendulum stroke.

Or maybe soup spoons.

This is an interesting interpretation. I also noticed that at this point we are under grey skies walking on dirt... but up ahead the clouds lose their color and become pure, the sky begins to clear, and there are wonderful mountains taking us to heights we can only imagine right now.

And, smackdab in the middle of this journey is the game of billiards. What I find interesting is that the perception of the game is a distorted one.
