Attention Serious Szam Buyers

I guess I'm just nitpicking here but you gotta admit, you jump into a lot of threads and drop Keith's name. You can't POSSIBLY say that this isn't true.
Maybe I am starting something for no reason. Maybe I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Maybe I need some more coffee. Who knows? But you gotta admit, what I said certainly isn't true. Is it?

Brian

you might be right if you're talking about when i first joined this forum and shortly there after. i can admit that. but no more as you brow beating all the posters you felt needed a slap on the wrist. yea i might have done some that you mention the same as tons did and allot still do, but when i realized this wasn't what most would consider a "normal" accepted action from the majority of the forum i stopped, which has been a long time now, and only offered when asked for opinions, direction about buying or designing a new cue the same as any maker would do. plus i can't remember anytime that i said our cues were any better than anyone else's.................even though i might think differently. :)

I Don't Care Either Way......... But The Prices Were Already Disclosed, So I Don't Understand Not Posting The Pics. It's Easy Enough To E-mail For Them ,i Guess, But It Doesn't Give The Buyer Any More Privacy Really. We Already All Know How Much They Are Being Sold For, And Anybody Can Ask For The Pics. So I Don't See A Difference In Privacy....

If This Post Made No Sense I'm Sorry. I Know What I'm Thinking, But I Am Exhausted Beyond Belief, And Nothing I Type Sounds Right To Me, So I'm Hopeing That This Post Makes Sense To Somebody.

Marcus <------ Doesn't Care If There Are Pics Or Not.

i also agree totally. in a way it doesnt make sence. it would make more sense to post pics but not disclose cost.

i chose to stay out but now i gotta say something

bottom line its his cue and this is the way he chose to do it. so leave him alone or buy it and do it the way you like... he obv didnt want everyone beatin up his sale.

sry had to say that. gl with the sale

Thanks to those of you who support my decision not to post photos of the Szams, including The Beginner, Skins, SkipC, Nick, Keepitreal, Bill, and Russ. I did it for several reasons. First, and most importantly, I respect the right of the purchaser(s) of the Szams not to have the world knowing how much they paid in case they want to try and resell for more. Most of my cues wind up being posted for sale here or on eBay for more money and sell for more money then I sell them for because I sell at rock bottom prices. So, if the individual or individuals who purchase the Szams want to resell them for more money, potential buyers will not be able to say "why are you asking so much for the cue seeing as you bought it from Quality Cues for $________." Second, I don't want a lot of tire kickers e-mailing me with trade offers on cues that I probably will not want to take in trade. I'm looking to turn these Szam gems into cash. Whoever winds up with one or both of the cues will love them. I guarantee it!!! So, who's going to be the lucky guy or gal???

Interesting posts. From a cuemakers perspective if I had a unique one of a kind very very expensive cue that had a totally different design than any other cue out there, do I want to post pictures all over the internet so it can show up as a decaled cue in 6 months? damned if you do damned if you don't.

Mike always has awesome cues ~~~~great ppl to deal with !!!
Good luck for the sale!!

mike please understand we just differ on our opinion on the marketing of the cues its not personal,

I have done a deal with Mike and he is 100% stand up I would recommend him to anyone who asked about him. Mike is very smart. I just differ in my approach to selling the cues, nothing more nothing less. They are great cues and who ever buys them is getting a good deal, I have a couple Szams and the only reason I didnt buy this Gus is because I just signed a $500,000 construction contract, and I wasnt gonna put a cue on lay-a-way, it was just bad timing for me.

posting the pics is good for the whole market, preception creates value, having them only seen by serious buyers dosent do anything but stroke the egos of the rich snobs, when i get pics of mine i'll post them up for the world to see, i'm not a snob, it isnt bragging its called sharing, what i have dosent make me better person, hell i might be a bad guy, my assetts dont make me the man I am, i was the same guy when I was flat or pumped up. So when the time is right i'll share them, not being a show off or trying to make others jealous, i let anyone that can play hit balls with my of my cues except one or two cues i have, if you cant share what you have you shouldnt have it,

I let people drive all but 2 of my cars-they will have a memorie for a life time, i remember the first Ferrari I drove in 86, its nice to share and touch peoples lifes, so pictures of cues is sharing and creating the demand, i remember the first Sazm i played with Lucky has it now, its a 8pt. with a ton of ivory in it, i played an hour with it, i'll never forget that, i was sold then on Szams, now 21 years later i have a couple, if that guy didnt loan me the cue for an hour i never would have know what a Szam is, now its in a vault in Japan not doing Gus or Barry any favors its a waste of a cue, if i wire Lucky $200,000 for it it would be mine, i could make it happen and to just keep it out of the publics eye is a selfish thing, some cal me a show off i call myself a sharer, i share what i have but i'm not a trick or soft, niceness dosent mean softness.

more exposure they get the more demand there is thus the higher the prices go up in time, because the up commers making $$$ know what to buy, if they are in the rich people vaults getting dusty until they sell them to another rich guy to put in a different vault the market wouild get soft, look at art a $50,000,000 picasso is better displayed in a museem than in a house. People seeing the cues stirrs up emotion and that emotion creates the value, hiding things from the people who cant afford them dosent help the market, it just makes small D*** guys feel good to be "exculsive" well i got news for them $10,000 aint anything to brag about, in the pool world it is but charter a private jet and see how far 10 dime will take you, LOL man the big egos of the middle class disgust me, hell i'm broke compaired to where I want to be and I charter jets 2-3 times a year, like Gorden Gecko said in Wall Street "A real player or nothing at all 50 or 100 million" and that was 20 years ago, now thats money. i want to live in my own jet travelling the world, have a 100,000 sqft house and 10 condos all over the world, think big get big.

mike post the pics this is silly

Tap Tap Tap!!!!!!!! Class has nothing to do with money, and everything to do with how you treat others no matter who they may be, or the financial back ground that they come from.

Manwon thinks ANY SNOB SUCKS AND THAT ESPECIALLY GO'S FOR CUE SNOBS. Now with that being said if the shoe fits wear it, and if some one is mad because of what I have said, I am very easy to find.;) PM, me I will give you an address where we can meet, or I can come visit you, I frequently travel WORLD WIDE and I am sure we can arrange to meet and have a drink and discuss this in more depth.;)

I apologize in advance to those uninvolved in this nonsense, but this crap needs to end, have a good night!!!!

Oh and by the way, I was born very poor, no matter though, I am not poor any longer. That being said, my most valued asset is not my bank account or the money in my pocket. To me my greatest asset are the people who will stand by my side when things get tough.

It's you'r choice to to post pictures or not. and no one has to like it or dislike it, Thats their choice. That said, I read the reasoning stated above, and it made no sense to me at all!
First of all, If you dont want trades, Say something like....Cash only, No trades...Thats easy enough?
Secondly you say you dont want anyone but the buyer to know what was paid.....Ummmmm... dont make the deal in front of other people. What the hell do pictures have to do with keeping the finances discreet???
Like I said do it any way you want, But the folks here are not going to find lame reasoning anything but lame. I think in my opinion, for what thats worth..you'd be better off just telling them to sell theirs their way, and you'll sell you'rs you'r way

Jayman:

If I had a dollar for every trade offer I have received in response to a cue posting that said "no trades please," I could retire. The lack of photos on a public website has everyting to do with discretion. Sure, I've stated my sales price, but the world does not know what the Szam cues look like, so the stated price is irrelevant.

Yea, I suppose you can only share one or the other.( Price or picture). if you'r trying to maintain some level of privacy, you realy can't do both.

I have always though that maintaining a level of privacy, concerned not attaching a name and a persons location with a purchase. I can totally respect that aspect of any transaction, however, when you are advertising on a public forum of any type, selling anything, there will be a great deal of traffic, and part of the privacy will go out the window automatically. But there is no need for people to be openly Disrespectful or Snooty to others because they ask questions, even if the questions are not what you asked for , it kinda just go's with the open public territory.;)

i agree that being private is very important, thats why i'm fatboy here, and will be for ever. I dont put all my bussiness on the street, but showing a pic of a cue isnt going to hurt anyone, if I bought the szam in this thread from Mike all that would be public is the cue was sold, i would ask mike to please respect my privacy, i never discuss what I paid for anything I buy unless a friend asks or I want to give up info/price to some I trust.

what i disagree with is not sharing pics of works of art to anyone who wants to see them, that dosent serve any purpose. I have been very lucky/blessed what ever the case in the last 8 years that has put me in a position I can buy nice cues, for 75% of my life I could only look and dream, that motivated me. Now that I have arrived, Its satifying to share with other people,

I had a friend ask me if he could do a pohto shoot of my cars for a magazine, I said sure, just use my first name and say i'm from LA-which is true and no more about me period, well he didnt my first, and last name is in the article in every other sentence, he mentioned how I used green money to buy a investment car. and alot of other detail about me i didnt want to be public with, My intent was to show the cars to people in the magazine and not be part of the article, I asked not to be named but the editor wanted it so i asked for first name only and like i just said he wrote a story of things i told him in a private way, he sold me out, i just let it drop. I know alot ov very famous people, i hate attention, all i want is the $$$, I have a cue in a musium show now, my name isnt on the display i made sure of that, i keep my biz off the streets, if some sells me out i'm done with them-like the car magazine tinng i wrote him off
How about sharing some pics with us! we'd like to see some of your planes, trains and automobiles!
