from what i've read here and in some chat rooms, some of you very good players travel to different towns to compete in pool games -- as in that hustler movie with mary elizabeth mastrantonio.

my kansas city gf and i decided to drive from her place to visit her cousin in little rock, about 400 miles, i think. maybe 500. since i don't know how to drive, i was put in charge of the maps and road signs.

it took us two days and twice we ended up -- by accident -- in broken bow, oklahoma. the second time some nice boys drove us back to the right road. and -- v. important travel tip! -- just because you're looking for a certain road like 71, don't think that 71b is 'close enough,' you will end up even more confused.

so, you road players, it's hard enough to win your pool games, you shouldn't have to get beat up just getting to the joint! those people who draw those confusing maps are not your friends!

p. s. i am not a conspiracist, but i am developing a theory that map drawers probably work for big oil and purposely get people lost so they have to keep filling up the gas tank! and they are probably first cousins to those sadists who muck up all the road signs that are never where you need them!
 
They still make maps??? You do realize they sell GPS'. You could've made it to your destination in 7hours.
 
You need to just start a blog about this stuff and get it over with. 90% of the things you write in your threads aren't even pool-related.

Gee, no wonder you prefer the indoors (refering to a previous thread by you, sunnyone), you're "outdoors-challenged". Next time go Greyhound (as in "Go Greyhound, and leave the driving to us!") ;)

you seem very intelligent. please research the pool world in an actual pool room and not from an 80's movie. no disrespect to TCOM as it was a great movie, but seriously no one gives 2 shits about your trip to see your cousin and how you get lost. like the dude said blog about that crap elsewhere this is a POOL forum not a talk about what kind of tea i had last tuesday forum.

you boyos should see the thousands of positive pm's (the apostrophe may not be appropriate, but i am not entering pms territory!) and e-mails that i receive!

well, perhaps not thousands.

maybe more like one? i think he said, 'sunny, you are not as horrible as most people think.'

i take that as a positive affirmation of my mission! which is -- ok, it changes every day -- to turn an oblique flashlight on the wonderful, wacky world of pool!

if only one voice, only one way of expressing viewpoints were to prevail ... well, wouldn't that be drab!

so, a gentle suggestion ... rather than malign the messenger, why not have everyone send $110 to the 'yea sunny fund.' it's a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt (maybe) foundation and i promise to use it only for the betterment of the the pool-playing community. or, in a pinch, myself!

all I know, is most of her posts seem to be all over the place and always seem to give her a reacharound pat on on her own back, for her wit or wisdom, which turns me off big time.

Now as far as saying a "girl" (gasp) got positive emails/PM's, well c'mon. No disrespect to the ladies, but when you toss a female into this group, your going to have 70% of the horndogs here sucking up to you. Nothing strange about that, it's just the way society is, especially on a forum, where most everyone is mostly anonymous. Everyone here is rich, a stud to the 10th degree and would be more than happy to "teach" you how to play pool.

I've seen this play out in every bar I've been to. Forums even worse.

There is a NPR forum though, where you can talk in tongues there and get some bites.:D
 
sunny's online persona is carefully and well-constructed. I find it entertaining. Whatever we're visualizing she looks like, we're all dead wrong.

Your right.. I'm reminded of that everytime I"m in a chat and watching professional pool players. 90% of the people in there are experts at what they should or shouldn't do and are quick to ridicule someone who missed. Half of them have no respect for players, they're just someone to make fun of and try and get some laughs over.

Let's leave out the fact they could get last 5 and the breaks and ball in hand after the break, from these guys.

I don't get it, but then again, I must just be a minority in the world. Don't ever feel the need to brag, don't ever need to try and impress people with my knowledge or who I know or what kind of cues I have, whether I got $$'s or not. Don't act like I know it all or am above anyone else.

Just a regular guy, loves pool so much, it took over my life for several years, love being around action and gambling and love watching pros play live, or TV/DVD or streaming. That's it.. not complicated at all:)

Neil I could red rep many people through out the forums. And others along with you on the thread where I seen you bash Miss Sunny. You are entitled to your opinions just as they are. It is too bad the majority of the opinions around here are just getting worse by the day. I can't blame the ones who have quit contributing here. Here is a nice person trying to post in a interesting way and people just dont get it. Maybe they feel insulted because it is easier.

So feel lucky Neil you are the chosen one because I know how effin great you are. You are the most perfect person and player in the entire universe. I know you agree !!!
 
I thought it was a cute story, made me chuckle a bit. I know some folks that can't read maps for diddly, heard some crazy stories.

Did I miss something? Sunnyone has pissed in somebody's Cheerios or something? I know I was gone to Vegas for a week but geeez........what happened?:confused:

This is just another in a string of BARELY pool-related threads she has started in the Main Forum. To add to that, her threads often consist of drab rambling and what can only be described as word diarrhea.
