yes! 5$ for a quarter of a pizza and a small drink was great when we were at the shop. How many of you guys shoot on 9' tables regularly?

That's about all I ever play on and I'm pretty sure RJ and Dennis Walsh do as well. Would like to see some of the other AZ'ers I know post up, guess I'll have to ask around Thursday night at league...

Im a bar box guy. I struggle wit a 9 ftr. Red Shoes has 2 BBoxes that play very well of course.

spoke with John last night and the 23rd is fine. Even though it's not one of his days to work, he will come in for a while. They have a $10 special for play from 11 until 5 or 6, I forget which.

By the way, even though John does allow outside food to be brought in, It would be a nice gesture to at least peruse his menu and try to help him make his nut by buying food there.

I used to shoot 9 ft tables all the time but am being forced onto barboxes down here. I voted for the 23rd also. As long as the wife doesn't have anything special planned for my bday.

I don't get out to play much, so I am stuck playuing on my 8 footer most of the time. I have to check the best date for me with the wife, but will do that tonight and add to the poll. I'm really hoping to be able to make this. I'm just your average high C level player, but would love to shoot aganst some other Azers.

What time are we talking?

yeah i bar box it 99% of the time unless i get out and meet the boys at this hood rat place and pay out the ass for a table but it is fun now and again. hopefully ill have my new cue by the 23rd...tommy had a little meltdown playing 14.1 by himself last night after way too many beers and shots...rip pechauer you served me well

I can do it any day but the 2nd. It looks like the 23rd will be hard to beat right now with the lead or has. I voted for that and it should work well for me.

What time are people thinking?

what time

What time do you guys want to do this? Im thinking 2pm till ???
Im open for suggestion as always.
Also it looks like Red Shoes seems to be in the lead.
For you guys who have never been my personal opinion is as follows
Pyramid club is nicer but a little pricey
Red Shoes is a players hall. no frills but a cool place

both have nice equipment and ample parking.
Please post your preference here.

I'll do either. I have been to pyramid for the cue show, but never to red shoes. I have always wanted to see red shoes for its rep as being the hall where the best around play. I would be on with either, but would choose red shoes overall.

The only time I've been to Pyramid was the cue show. Looks like a nice set up, but I say Red Shoes. By the way, some of the tables at the Shoe have live feeds, for what that is worth.

As far as time, the place opens at 11 and the all day $10 special starts at 11, so I say noonish, and people can drift in whenever they are done with the honeydo list.

Ill probably get there at noon or so cause it takes me two hours and a couple beers to get warmed up. I'm down for red shoes cause its a bit closer to me as it'll be about 75 or 80 miles. Who need frills? We need a keg some food and a decent table!

I'd say Pyramid Club if we have more than 12 folks, because they have plenty of "private" room to sit, mingle, and such, and keep our cues from walking anywhere....and they have 16 tables that don't get much use on the weekends, and we would have the run of the joint..

Plus a FULL kitchen, not just bar food....soups, pastas, pizza, sandwiches, etc. It's a BIG place, prob the biggest pool room in IL

If under 12 folks, then Red Shoes works well. Cause we would only need 3 or 4 tables and not taking up all that much space to play and bullshit.....And Red Shoes is a cool place, more old school, with good guys running the joint....

Never heard of any cues walking anywhere at Red Shoes and I have been in leagues and tournaments there for many years. :scratchhead:

Red Shoes has 15 9 footers and two or three bar boxes. Usually not too busy on a Saturday unless there is a tournament. Plenty of room for lots more than 12 people.

.

dennis, never suggested any such thing... I only said, that while at Pyramid, there is some private dining areas we can put our stuff so we don't have to worry and you don't have to carry your stuff with you all around the poolhall (it is a big place)

My reference had NOTHING to do with Red Shoes... heck, I had nothing but good things to say about Red Shoes :)

PS: Of course, if we knew "anyone" with some connections we could play at the IL Billiards Club :)

Yeah I guess I'm not what you would call a serious shooter, although I do tend to have some game. Drinking a few is relaxing just like shooting pool so they go hand in hand. Hopefully I'll have my new cue by then
