AZ USER NAMES ... How did you get yours and does it have history for you or meaning??

Mine comes from the fact that i am a huge fan of George Romero the filmmaker responsible for such classics as Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead which are zombie movies.

My first gamble

When I first started hangin' out in the pool hall in the late 70's I was pretty naive when it came to gambling. After always watching the action from the sidelines for quite a while, I finally got my first real action game giving up the 8 for $5-10 a rack.

It wasn't a good way to start by giving up weight in my first action match, and it wasn't too long before I was stuck pretty good. After 3-4 hours I was down to my last couple barrels, but I wouldn't quit. I got back to even after about 10-11 hours and my opponent quit. I had dodged my first bullet and added my own determination that no one would ever get my last dollar. After that someone gave me my name of "grindz" and it fit.....and stuck.

I like it, and identify with it...so here we are.

My nickname came from when I looked like this

They started calling me Gunz after I was at work and accidentally snapped a pair of needle nose pliers in my hands. One guy started calling me Gunzby when he kinda mixed Gunz and Gumby together and I have no idea why

For some of the old timers on AZB, seeing people ask the same information when it was previously discussed must get old from time to time.
This is one of those repeating threads that I always enjoy reading since there are always new posters.

JoeyA comes from playing in local tournaments. I have an unusual last name and it is difficult for most tournament directors to pronounce it correctly (as well as practically anyone else for that matter) so I usually just say I'm "JoeyA".
FYI, the "Ag" in your name is pronounced exactly like the "Ag" in my name. Mine is mispronounced the same as yours.

I live in Texas and I like pool.
Well when I was a Gigilo in Southern Arkansas, my sister, or my girlfriend used to say, well never mind.

Just because I've played some pretty long matches.

I started using mine back in 89 when I went to the computer lab and the teacher said we needed a user name to log into the computer. I looked out the window and saw a bumber sticker that said "nativeMT" and been using it ever since.

My other user name for my other passion is KC7MRQ, my amateur radio call sign. It's used on more forums than I

My first choice was "Hooked," because it describes both my addiction to the game and my frustrating level of play, but Hooked was taken.

Therefore I took "Shaft" because it was pool-related, available, and better than "Butt."
