My first gamble
When I first started hangin' out in the pool hall in the late 70's I was pretty naive when it came to gambling. After always watching the action from the sidelines for quite a while, I finally got my first real action game giving up the 8 for $5-10 a rack.
It wasn't a good way to start by giving up weight in my first action match, and it wasn't too long before I was stuck pretty good. After 3-4 hours I was down to my last couple barrels, but I wouldn't quit. I got back to even after about 10-11 hours and my opponent quit. I had dodged my first bullet and added my own determination that no one would ever get my last dollar. After that someone gave me my name of "grindz" and it fit.....and stuck.
I like it, and identify with it...so here we are.
