AZB King!

Already been challenged. :)

Still working out specific date/time, but it may be this Friday, 6PM at Lucky's.

The challenger is Tanner Pruess, so it's going to be a VERY tough match for me. But I will play my best and see what happens. :)

We will be playing race to 9, 9 ball on a 9' Diamond Pro. Wow. lots'a 9s.

And can I get a $9 sweat bet with someone? ;)

There should be a new thread about AZB King, where the first post are always updated with the player who is King in their state/country. Or JoeyA can just edit his post, and people can PM him when there is a new King in a state. Much easier for challengers, and more fun to watch.

Line Kjorsvik is coming home to Stavanger for a week now, before heading for US Open. I will convince her to play me for the AZB King of Norway title, think it will be on this coming Monday. Race to 10, 10-ball. :)

You better do it for the 'Royal' of Norway, before you bankrupt us for gender discrimination

Ha. Ha. Ha.

Since Tanner sent me a message that he can not make it this week, I have been challenged by caesar, one of my team mates. We will be playing at Lucky's bar, same table, same race, but tomorrow night after we play our league match. Winner will play Tanner when he can get to town.

When the ladder system is in place we will know if there are any other posers to the throne.
JoeyA

I don't know exactly how serious this ladder thing is, but I think a ladder system is going to be difficult to administer. Who's to say who can and cannot play someone?

I'm really not seeing a weaker player tossing $50 at a stronger player as a major problem.

Let freedom reign I say! :D

I will play you for the title. $10,000.00 minimum race to 11 9 ball. Or 8 ball and one pocket. Let me know.

Just got that in my PM box. Does anyone really expect me to take this? I put up $50 that would've left me broke at the end of the night, and then I get this PM'd to me. Granted, my last post in the AZBK Illinois thread might've been a bit ballsy, but I'm just itching to see a better player take the title.

Tad,
It seems quite clear that the majority is in favor of $50 as THE standard wager. People who want to compete for other amounts are welcome to get together whenever they want; but in the spirit of this competition, players who want to participate for the title need to stick to the $50.

Remember, the glory of the title is really the point, not the 50 bucks. Congrats on the victory. All Hail Tadpole.

Cue stick = $400
Table time = $20
Wager for the title = $50
Title of AZB King = PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!

I like sticking to a standard $50 for the title. I won $50 and the title for Washington state last Thursday and I know that when a better player comes along and beats me I will be happy to try to win the title back for $50 bucks. If I had to pay $200 for a title shot against a better player then it would discourage action in general.

Well, there's that lol

I’ve tried several times to draw attention and activity to the AzB kings thread, resulting in utter failure.

I just think it was an awesome idea and some of the threads I read through were cool. Meet Az-ers in your area and it would also give you a goal to work towards, another reason to practice and train and avoid stagnation.

I started a thread asking about maybe having a AZB tournament and JOEY brought up have a King of the Hill type AZ players challenge.

We could do it to where you have to have say 300 posts.
A short race. Say maybe 7 or 9.
A small wager would be set. Friendly Fifty was suggested.
You have to post at least 24 hours, I say 48 hours before play so the board can be involved.
I think it should be a nominated player set up. Maybe do it by region/area so that travel won't be an issue.

What do you guys think?

"Friendly Fifty"? My friends won't play me for a Friendly Five...
