AZB - now and then

HAHAHAHAHA, that's true, Fatboy has attained a Rick Flair-esque level of cockiness

Nah i'm more like Hogan. ;) :D

seriuosly I watched a documentary on Andre the giant the last day of the DCC, he was an amazing story, I saw it before but it was long ago. I have a friend who had a 2 year contract with WWE then he got dropped, now he is in a wrestling camp in Houstan Tx. Its an interesting business to say the least. Hint: in the locker room they are all friends. So read between the lines here-I have no dislike for anyone here, the reverse isnt true but I bet that who ever here hates me the most would like me face to face, the internet takes away the personality of us all alot. I thought Russ Chewing was a hard ass, i couldnt have been more wrong he is a great guy and friend, we were friends online but man was I suprised when I met him. I have been on boards for 10 years and I have learned not to judge people til I meet them.

Don't get me wrong Fatboy, I don't hate or even dislike you, all I'm saying is that coming on and declaring yourself the new sheriff is just a wee bit cocky

It wasn't even 6 months ago that I started coming here regularly, but even since then things have changed with respect to the amount of actual pool questions discussed. There used to be at least one or two threads with CueTable layouts prominently displayed on the front page every day. Now I'm lucky to find one such thread every week to talk about...

I used to log in in the morning and after an hour or two I was caught up on all the interesting new threads... Now it takes about 10 minutes...

every comminity has it's up' and downs, something can't stay at it's peak constantly, that's why it's called a peak.

plus maybe you're just getting a bit bogged down with it, checking the forum every two minutes etc, i know i get like that sometimes. take a break for a few days!

Fatboy, if you are ever going to be a real pool player to this crowd you'll have to become a whole lot cocky. You can find multiple role models around here:D :D :D

I think every new member should get aquainted with the SEARCH feature. There are thousands of post there on tons of topics. I have been around long enough to tell you that we have had em all. It wouldn't hurt the Wanted/For Sale feature either. Put it on in the morning and find it on page # 4 at noon. Man, all you have to do is SEARCH any damn cue made. OH NO! Bump, bump, bump!!! JMHO

I miss the good ole days. Don't ask me when they were cuz I don't know... they were a while back. Things were so much better then.

Is it just me, or is AZB not as good as it used to be?

I had almost all December off from visiting AZB, just reading some threads now and then.

After I started to visit AZB more often again now in January, mostly because of the DCC, I feel like something is wrong with the forum.

Before I always found lots of threads that I wanted to read, and most important, wanted to reply on.

Right now I am tired of all AZB. I am sick and tired of reading page up and page down about Fatboy, Bucktooth and Shane van Boening. I have lost interest, and don't even bother open threads anymore. I just visit AZB to check if there is something interesting, but unfortunately there is almost never anything.

Just wanted to share my feelings with you. Anyone else feel the same, and can explain it better than me?

Roy,

Honestly, I think with The Action Report (TAR) and some of the other stuff going on, we've never had it better.

All hobbies can get stale. Maybe it's time to take a break and come back all fired up. Every once in a while I take some time off. I'm also at the stage right now where I need a break myself. I'll take it and hope I come back a more enthusiatic enthusiast!

Joey, you need dual citizenship...:D
Sounds like you're good enough to represent our country at European champs.

BTW...Great showing at DCC! Congrats! :)

Thanks!

I just need a sponsor from Croatia. ;)

You hit the nail on the head Tate, sometimes you gotta ease off of the game for a bit, otherwise it starts to feel like a job that you hate. I just recently decided to take a bit of time off, until last week I had been playing two night a week in league and it was starting to wear thin, so I decided to take this next session off and I'm probably going to be jazzed up and ready when next league season rolls around

I like this site. It's like a little town filled with all kinds of people. The topics are usually variables of something that's been talked over before, but with each time, there is fresh perspective. You can get pool news quicker here than anywhere else that I know of. The comedy stuff alone that some of the guys put on everyday is worth logging in. There are some creative people here and I'm enjoying my visits.

Well, the thing is that the last months my game has really improved, and I have never been more excited about pool than I am right now.

I am still desperate after more information, DVD's, books, mental books +++ just like it was 3 months ago.

However, before I could visit azb and find information about almost everything, without searching. Something interesting was almost always on the first 2 pages.

Now I don't even bother looking through page 1 :o

And it won't just help with taking a break from azb, cause I have almost had 1 month "vacation" in all December... Ahh, whatever, I guess less visits to azb gives me more time to play pool and do other stuff. Maybe it will be good for me in the end ;)

TAR is GREAT for pool right now, I think they are doing a good job. I don't blame all the bad threads on TAR :)

I do miss DCP, btw ;) :D

Roy hang in there don't be upset or leave..AZ has many characters some you will like some not..that's the way the world is..enjoy the threads that interest you ..there is alot of great information on here.take care and i hope you can enjoy AZ for what it is, information and gossip about the billiards community...

I think that much like the economy and many other things around us this forum has cycles. The theme here changes dramaticly. It may be mainly driven my those who talk the most. We all have a common interest and things will cycle back to the posts you like. If I get tired of todays AZ events sometimes I will go back 1000 pages or something and spend some time in the past. It's amazing how much stuff you remember. It will remind you of what brings you back here every day.
