AZB rep system needs to get fixed to protect people.

it needs to be more advanced, they need to add more colors than just green and red.

bronze
sliver
gold
platinum
etc

so yeah, im sure the admin here can do it within seconds...

I don't think it's this simple, or at least it wasn't at a forum I posted at a few years ago (vbulletin also). I'm not sure if the issues were unique to the forum I posted at, but I know the idea of a rep reset/change was baulked at several times by the admins (very good, competent forum admins, too) due to the amount of issues it would cause and how difficult it would be to reset it.

Full removal, I have no idea about.

And if you give someone positive rep, the will get about 10,000,000 points (1% or so of your rep). They only need about 40,000 (as I remember) to get full green.

Rep tells you who makes the most popular posts, not who makes the best posts.

But, if they're gonna have a system like this, it does need some adjustment to the formula. Basically full green = been on the site more than a few days. Less than full green = brand new user. Full red = new guy made some trolly and/or unpopular posts, and is likely to be banned shortly.

In some ways the system is actually really fair. Virtually everyone except blatant trolls and complete newbies gets equal weight. That's how it should be... we should judge each post on its merits, and not glance at the green bar to decide whether the post is worth a damn. Even a complete jackass can make a good point once in a while.
 
I tend to agree that the superfluous nature of rep points are woefully exaggerated, what ever the hell all that means, but, it's kinda nice when you get a pat on the back for saying something cool. :smile:
