I'll contribute some $. Being a smoker, I opt for smoke-free as well.

I just remembered that you can still smoke in the bar... if we get the room that I requested, there won't be any need to go outside because there's a bar right there. :)

Happy wkend! Just getting this back to the main page for the AZB wkend warriors. ;)

If I haven't heard back frm Dawn by Monday, I'll send her another email. She & Allen have got to be pretty busy right now so I'm trying to be patient. At the same time, we need to know IF we can do this and WHAT the cost is, in order for us to be prepared when the time comes. Just keeping you guys up to date. :)

Hi Timberly,

Count me in, I'll be arriving on Wednesday, expect to leave on Monday, a.m.
I'll be playing in the senior event.

I was at the DCC also! and great having a special room, looking forward to the Super expo and meeting more posters.

Regards,

John

Room and tables

There is a room, upstairs from the main level, next to the Grotto restaurant. I think it's called the "Gettysberg Room" or sumthin like that. This room used to be the "practice tables" where all the action was. As the expo grew, this was too small, but would be ideal for 3 bar boxes and could hold about 50-60 people comfortably. This would be the best private room area for this hoohaa. The past few years, this room has been empty, so maybe the Scanticon wouldn't mind giving it up.

I'm in for whateva, be it money or some time to help with the logistics. PM me if you need.

Eric >Thurs thru Sun

Seeing as how we were invited by Allen at the DCC I would guess we count on them (and if Gregg is providing their tables ??) to give us a little leeway
I can guarantee without a doubt in my mind that even if we had a half dozen
tables they would also be busy 90% of the time  or more ! But that all depends on committment by us , I am basing my above opinion soley on the DCC turnout ?

Whether I make it or not I would hope that this turns out like the last one ,and if I can make it , I will be glad to help in any way ! It would be nice to have a small dollar dollar (for us po' folk)to get aquainted ,A 9 ball ring game and also some mini tourneys amongst ourselves and a couple 2 or 3 tables would allow that.

It got a little hit, miss, for me at the DCC as I would have liked to met everyone there , shook hands and said howdy and I believe incorporating some more tourneys along with another table or so would do just that imho

Not neccessarily. I'm dealing with Dawn, not Allen. I did tell her in the email that Allen had spent quite a bit of time in the DCC room and that he was the one that suggested we do this at the Expo, in hopes that she would discuss this with him and get his view on how smoothly things ran.

I read that he is playing in the Ocean State tournament this weekend so we may not hear until after the weekend.

Ask Dawn for his cell phone number lolol find him and tell him that that big dumb grey haired fella that he asked about having that internet AZ Billiards Room at the DCC wants to talk to him about back in the day lol ,With all Allen & Dawn have on their table I still think He will remember us .I can hear him asking about if we could possibly bring the room to his show at Valley Forge as I sit here , But I had no one at hand to ask about it at the time. He had me explain what we were about and he really sounded Gung-Ho about us being there , I should have done some bartering for us then but I didnt want to step on anyones toes or any thing .

Ratchet -Thought Allen was a pretty laid back guy there and probably is IRL
to boot ....

Keep up the good work Timberly !:)

Timberly,

Hang in there. I email Dawn quite a bit and sometimes she's away doing stuff and you wouldn't know that. She ALWAYS answers her email, just sometimes it takes a while.

Besides, you've got Allen involved and if he said he wanted to have this happen at the Expo, it will happen.

Thanks Barbara. I'm trying to be patient because I know that they're very busy people. I've just got a lot of people inquiring about the room and the cost. LOL, I feel so useless saying "I don't know" all the time. I certainly don't want to come across as pushy, but we do need to find something out soon so that I can start collecting the money & organizing everything if we do get the room.

I'll give her until Tue (1 full week) and if I haven't heard back from her, I'll send her another email. Thanks for all your help and input on this Barbara, it truly is appreciated. :)

Hey no problem Timberly! Dawn is a very sincere person and always follows through.

I will help in any way I can. However, once the Expo starts, I am on one very short leash.

I'm so tempted to go to this event, Timberely can you sell it to me (I need to justify it to myself - doesnt usually take much lol!)

As Timberly's surrogate, I feel safe in saying . . . .

"Craig, you weak-tit. I can drink you under the table any day or night of the week! Bring your best game, limey!"

Of course, that is just Timberly talking.....not me.

Or, something like that . . . . :D
