AZers at Swanee Feb 7 & 8 - who will be there?

Just got a call from HB. They've had another 20 players or so come in and sign up tonight. Looks like a big field brewing. Now 29!

I copied this off of a website it is a list of players that are already signed up.

Corey B Harper Pasadena CA USA
USA

Apparently they decided to put Corey's handicap in the listing with his name, that wasn't very nice.

I kid! ;-) I'm sure if I ever magically lost all the wonderful things that keep me from ever attending such events (wife, job, family, Internet porn etc.) Corey would be happy to kick my "C" rated butt around the table. Maybe I'll just have to arrange a tournament in my garage in Orange County so I can finally meet some of you guys. Jay, you get all the home-made Guacamole you can eat if you agree to be TD.

I'm mulling about going, if my schedule permits, but my friend/co-worker Rey Lorenzo (San Diego) will be there and will be playing too...

I'll be there as well. Jay and I will be directing the tournament as Mark Griffin was called out of town on business. Mark Estes will also be helping out.

Bill Stock

Oh, Bill, Bill, Bill... Mark G. always said it would take two bodies to do what he does alone... you just have legitimized his bluff. Quick delete this post before he see it:D

Sorry, but that's way more personal information than I needed to know. ;-)

Swanee

The Swanee started matches around 10 AM. Had a FULL field of 192. And turned away close to 10 players.

We thought this year would be BIG - and it is.

Bill Stock and Jay Helfert and running the event - with Mark Estes helping out. Then there is the always helpful volunteer Hillary Morse.

Wish I could be there (since it is kinda my event) but gotta drive to Colorado tonight for a lousy lawsuit thing.

Perhaps some updates will be coming later. It is a madhouse at Hollywood Billiards. 192 players on 27 tabales and all finished in 2 days. Double Elimination - races to 8-7 on loser side.

Does anyone know the tournament results for all the Swanee tournaments in the past? I would like to see the results for the 4th Swanee tournament in general. If you have it send me an IM..thanks in advanced

BTW, am I the only one that left there a better player Sunday night than the one that showed up Saturday morning?

A tournament like that will do that to you.

4th Swanee results

The 4th annual Swanee took place on Jan 22-23, 2000. Pretty sure that took place at College Billiards.

Tang Hoa was first - Louis Ulrich was 2nd - Morro was 3rd. (Morro came back next year to win AND had won the previous year!!!)
