Jude Rosenstock said:You're reading into the letter of the law rather than the spirit. The rule is intended to keep people from sitting on the table while shooting.

Bruce S. de Lis said:That was my Point Yesterday when I was told KEELING was a Foul. As both Toe were touching the Floor, and the Toe is attached to the Foot.....![]()
Boro Nut said:Technically it's not enforceable. In theory you wouldn't foul if you went table swimming as long as you were wearing winklepickers or clowns boots, but there is nothing in the rules that allows you to be penalised simply for wearing the wrong shoes.

I wear platform shoes just about every day, just because I like them. They usually add 4 to 5 inches to my height. I'm only 5'4" to begin with, so it's not like they make me unusually tall.
The question of shoes has actually occurred to me before - I wondered whether it affects my stance that my height can vary by a few inches on any given day. But it never occurred to me that anyone might consider my Steve Madden boots to be cheating! LOL

Boro Nut said:That must put a lot of responsibility on your shoulders Jude. People must be ringing you up at all hours asking you to remember if their shoes are standard or not. Why don't you just start up a company called 'Standard' making winklepickers for pool players and get some peace of an evening?

Jude Rosenstock said:Physically, there is a difference between high-heels and platforms since a woman wearing high-heels is already extended.
