Baby powder is/was toxic!

College pool room had one of those salt lick chalk monstrosities.

Very popular with the people that weren't sure which end of the pole to grip and which end to grind the blue stuff on.

I've actually seen some pro Philippines players put chalk on both hands...and they didn't shoot opposite handed. I don't know why they put powder on their grip hand.

It doesn't cake up, it's dry, and it's not overly messy. The funny thing is that I never use it in my rubber gloves at work, but I always have a little bit while playing pool.

Pretty sure this stuff is about 90%+ talc. So it still probably has the asbestos in it.

Gloves are the way to go. I use Predator, which renders a Perfect Stroke every time.

It can help a slip stroke or a stroke slip.
 
breathing and eating oreo(s) also cause cancer

when you walk into the poolroom
look at the clock
{REAL pool players don't wear a watch, they don't care what time it is--LOL}
go wash your hands with soap and water
then dry them on the towel that YOU brought with YOU.

then every 30 mins walk away from the game and the table
clear you head
wash your hands
dry them with your towel


if the tables are dirty and your shaft starts pulling your skin as you stroke
buy some "Sail Kote" and use a white cotton rag
"Sail Kote"
it is a dry lubricant and cleaner for use on the ropes and pulleys on boats
It will knock the stuff off of and out of your shaft
It will also repel the same stuff.
if it repels water on a boat it will probably work in your pool room.....

in EXTREME conditions:
after you wash your hands and dry them with YOUR towel
spray the cotton rag with the Sail Kote and wipe the shaft
( it is like getting a ball and a half spot by the end of a long session )
