It was aired tonight on Chicago channel 7 after a week delay because of Virginia Tech shootings.

But here are most of the key points:

• Players Jeff Beckley and Rodney Morris were interviewed.

• The interview noted that KT spent 2 years in prison on a larceny convicton and settled several federal trade commission law suits related to other businesses.

• In an audio recording to pool players, KT said,
"...if you are on the I.P.T. tour, I'll just guarantee that at the end of the year you earn 100,000 dollars minimum. I'll just guarantee that."

• Rodney Morris commented, "It put us in a strain, you know were still struggling and realing from that"

• KT declined to be interview on tv and Deno spoke for him and he said, "I understand where the players are coming from and this is a horrible situation that frankly, were all very imberrassed about."

• The IPT said the bottom dropped out when advertisers failed to on.

• KT said he plans on rebuilding the tournament and hopes players give him a second chance.

• Rodney also said, "you can fool me once but thats about it and I'm not going for it again"

• IPT was paying the players a small amount every month

So there you go! Same old song and dance.

A summary on this program segment was also posted in the NPR forum by Cuejoey.

Appears to be a fairly negative news piece about Kevin Trudeau, not only with respect to the IPT, but overall.

Also looks like the money has run out, at least for the players. KT will continue to sell THEIR videos, his memberships, IPT equiptment, trinkets, t-shirts, and whatever else he can capitalize on. Maybe even hold a few more "qualifiers to nowhere" for $2k a pop.

He may be a POS, but he IS a very, very good POS, may be able to give P.T. Barnum the seven.

I really thought Geraldo Rivera was going to uncover KT's hidden vault.

Glad to see this piece finally ran. I communicated with Ben Bradley and sent him some of the material he used including the Trudeau audio where he promised everyone $100,000.

I say, let him pay the 1.7 million and go on his way. He can screw someone else next time.

 Mark Trainer made alot of promises also, you are a smart guy , what is ,was the outcome there.??

FWIW, exercising common sense would have steered everybody away from this guy. The players are owed money. So what? Any idiot could have seen right through this guy and avoided dealing with him on any level. The players need to move on and forget about Kevin, his money, and whatever else they were promised. From the very beginning it was all bullsh*t. Its as if everybody thought that if they believed and wished hard enough that it would all come true. Sorry, but it wasn't designed that way at all. It was designed to screw everybody from the very beginning and that's exactly what happened. Kevin doesn't care about bad press. He loves it. Kevin believes that his level of controversy is directly proportional to the amount of money he can make off the next group of suckers that he targets. This is a game to Kevin. What he promised the players doesn't matter at all. Kevin's attorneys can bring up the fact that KT never tells the truth anyway and that players should have been smart enough to NOT believe a word he said about anything. I would definitely agree with that defense.

Heh - take a look a the rack of balls on the table the commentator is sitting on at 2:20!

In all seriousness the last excuse I recall from Mr. Trudeau on why he couldn't pay the rest of the Reno prize purse from his own personal fortune was that the damn lawyers had tied it all up whilst the Ho deal was being negotiated. Given that this deal must surely now be dead (assuming for a moment that it ever existed) he simply has no good excuse to not pay as he promised in full immediately. It is obvious from his behavior he simply doesn't WANT to pay up in full right now.

I guess it is possible in his mind he thinks he can use this to draw IPT players back if and when he ever schedules another event, by promising them their remaining Reno payments if they show up and play.

I don't want to defent KT. But it wouldn't hurt to look if there is any throught in what he claims...

When he started the IPT, he claimed that the top-100 will earn 100.000 minimum. This also included money that should have been made by the IPT itself. Now we all know pool doesn't sell great on television, so he planned on selling pool on the internet. It will not work to just sell the matches, there is just not enough interest.

But he did have a great idear. Lets combine pool and betting through the internet. That would also be great for sponsors like pokersites.

But then came trouble. The new gamble legislation.

When he knew his plan fell through, he could have been a man of his word and pay whit his own money. But in bussiness it's not that commen to do that.

If just look at the IPT and forget about his past, maybe we should give him another try. Lets see if he can come up whit a plan that does work.

Just my 2 cents

Why don't you send him you credit card number and become an IPT supporter of his web based products.

The lure of large bucks was too strong for them to avoid. KT is the ultimate con man. Anybody that falls for it now must be brain dead.

Like I said. I don't want to defend him and don't want nothing to do with his past or other activities.

I'm just trying to see if there are opertunities for the IPT.
