Bad Deal with engineman76/William Crosby

And a further note

I went into the post office today and gave them all of the information that I have on what occurred with this transaction.

They said that they would be contacting me after they see what happens on their end of the delivery.

That is about all there is to do at this point.....if they come back and say he was trying to do mail fraud then I guess the next step is to contact his people and let them know about it.

Lets see where it goes now...................

Good on yah, brudda. Punish this jackarse for pushing it too far when he was just about to be let off the hook, relatively.

It better not be missing. I got insurance on it and will definitely do my part. Do not play games with me idiot got it.

The people hete see me 2 or 3 times a week shipping cues. The ladies watched me pack the cyes and then ship
The first package weighed more then the first one
Second one sorry

I have not heard from him now that he has the "package"back

Shipping cue

I have always took extra care to reinforce the box with tape and padding to avoid a cue from being damaged or coming out of the box burning shipping..
I could not believe the last set of cues I sent out was taped so well to avoid a incident that the recipient had complained that the tape and padding was to much... I guess they wanted to take a risk of getting a damaged cue.
I always take extra measures to assure safe shipping, I’ve seen to many bad stories on here of the cues being damaged or the cue comes out of the box due to lack of tape or padding.
I leave the tape doubled at the end so all you have to do to untape the cues is to grab the tab and unwrap them.
Anyone who don’t tape the box shut is asking for problems.

After reading this thread, I wonder how the guy has a perfect Itrader, is it one of those things where someone won't leave a negative for fear of getting negged back. Or maybe due to how it all played out, it wasn't up for an itrader arraignment.

What ever happened with this Jim?

OP got his cue back, and engineman is live right now on the forum, so he obviously didn't suffer too much for his shenanigans.

I too just had a horrible experience with the guy who goes by "William Crosby." He actually goes by Billy Mike, and I do think Crosby is his actual last name.

He is a scammer and completely hot headed, very disrespectful, even brought my wife and kids into it. Apparently he's some Military guy who has anger issues and his wife left him for it. All this came out in our discussions. He tried to get a cue intercepted in the post office to scam me. Just avoid him AT ALL COSTS.

Same exact address and name:

This is a pic he sent me of his cue, notice the tattoo on his foot:

That's him. AVOID engineman76

This engineman76 reached out to me yesterday and offered a trade for a shaft I listed here. He has a Bob Owen sneaky, asks for my email address to send along pics, and I'm interested. I check his iTrader and it's perfect. He sends the pics and I tell him to give me another day to see what other offers come in. His email address has his name as "Mike C." In the meantime, I email the pics to Bob Owen to verify that it's his cue and he confirms.

This morning I'm browsing FB and run across a listing from a guy with a different name with pictures of the same cue that were sent to me but totally different specs than engineman76 reported to me. It's the same cue though, and with the same carpet as a background. I start digging into engineman76's profile and ran across this thread that I remember from months ago but failed to connect the name.

Much like William/Mike/Whoever can't get his own name right, he variously refers to Bob Owen as Bob Shurtz, Jack Shurtz, he doesn't know who's who.

I wondered how Crosby had a perfect Itrader, I feel like OP should have left him a negative feedback, and I had commented that earlier in this thread.
I think people don't want to leave negative Itrader because they may get a negative Itrader back.

On a side note, I actually had wondered about why Bob's company was called Shurtz for a little while, not sure how accurate the following is, but you may enjoy it.

"Shurtz Custom Cues began in 1983, in the garage of Jack Shurtz, located in Wichita, Kansas. Jack has been in the billiard business since 1968, traveling five states recovering pool tables and selling billiard supplies. He was also a partner in a retail outlet for pool table and supplies. Jack learned his trade at making cues from the late Verl Horn in Mooreland, Oklahoma. Verl took Jack under his wing and they spent many hours together making cues. Jacks reputation for doing outstanding work has made his cues very popular in the Midwest.

In 1994 a partnership with Bob Owen of Wichita, Kansas was formed. Once together the company soon outgrew Jacks garage. A larger building was found and is now the current location of Shurtz Custom Cues. Bob has been involved in the billiard industry as a room owner, league operator, and a amature player since 1971. He also was one of the owners and general manager of a circuit board manufacturing company for fifteen years. This is when his expertise in computers and manufacturing was developed. Bob is the general manager of our shop and can be contacted there during normal business hours.
