Bad Night

Cue Theft

Does the pool hall that you were at have a Video Surveillance System of the parking lot. If you know an approximate time the theft occured, you might want to see what vehicles left the area shortly after. Maybe some of the patrons could help identify the vehice and occupants. Might be a good start.

Best of luck, I hope you can recover your cue. Please make a police report, sometimes the detectives get lucky.

I am sorry to hear that soemone stole your cue. I remember talking to you before you got that cue. As the some previous posters suggest.........keep an eye out for ebay. although I am on the other side of the country I remember cues and will keep an eye out. I also travel alot as well. Dont give up on getting your cue back................

This is why I never, ever, let a cue out of my sight when in a public place. The cue even comes to the bathroom with me, which causes some chuckles, but you can't be to careful.

Hope you get it back.

Regards,

Doug

Hey KayJeff,

It just occured to me that Coastydad, who posts here on AZ, has a Skip Weston. It is a 4 pointer, no inlays, great condition....I saw and hit with it and it's a nice cue (even though I'm not too much of a fan of Skip).

He still had it about a month ago and was looking to get somewhere around $650 to $750 if I recall....Sounds like it would fit your budget? You can send him a PM.

Regards,
Doug

Jeff,

Thanks Doug for the endorsement! I still have the Skip. If KayJeff is interested, he can PM me with his e-mail address and I'll send pics.

here is the original desc when it was for sale..

Nice cue. , 3 veneers rosewood ,ebony , rosewood. 8 points alternating , maple and rosewood I think. Rosewood butt sleeve , Double pressed black linen , 3/810 pin , phenolic joint , 2 full shafts with melamine ferrules.

one more pic..

chris

That cue is actually Kingwood, not Rosewood. 8 pointer, 4 hi Kingwood points w/veneers and 4 lo points of Holly. And yes, it now has a lizard wrap. I remember this cue very well, as I thought i was one of THE prettiest pieces of Kingwood I had seen in a while.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I too, take my cues with me everywhere I go, including the bathroom...even up to the bar. I never leave them unattended! Unfortunately, that is a hard lesson learned. Make sure you file a police report, with pictures, and supply a copy of the receipt too. That way, if it surfaces at a local pawn shop, it will be very easy to get it back.

So where did it happen? I travel through there quite a bit and know most all the places. Put the word out to the league players at Banacheks, See if someone tried to pedal it heading north. Also the 8 ball and pawn shops should be alerted. offer a REWARD!! Theives will RAT each other out!!

Hey Doug, You aren't alone, I bring my case and all into the restroom. All my equipment stays under the table while playing. The last tourney I played the guy I was playing reached under the table after I broke and grabbed my Kikel. He had two buddies lurking in the vicinity and I grabbed it straight back. Positive he was up to NO GOOD so I beat him and sent him out of the tourney. Never saw him again..
Kayjeff, Sorry for your misfortune and hope the loser get's his..

Say buddy, Everything comes around. One day you'll find 1,000 dollar score come right through the door and want to play you. Well I just lost my cue as well and I am very upset. BUt I will just take it as a loss. I have many others. I have a very nice AE in your price range incase you are interested. If my cue doesn't show up than I'll be in the market myself for a plain jane semi- beat up players cue. Oh and by the way, my AE has an all ebony butt with a white hoppe ring. The ebony extends to the base of the points and it has 4 ebony points with 4 veneers. It has a really nice stained birdseye forearm. Radial pin with a black phenolic joint. I would take 800 shipped. It is an awesome cue. Well anyway, Sorry to hear your loss, maybe i'll find your cue and you'll find mine. Well Best of luck to you. Don't worry, Something good will happen to you.
