"Mike,
There's a big difference between a mint cue and the one I received. I can live with the dent, I will not live with the wrap. The cue needs to be rewrapped and I'm not paying to have it done. Mike Gulyassy does not warranty his cues for damage caused by mishandling a cue. He only warranties against defects in workmanship. I am suggesting 2 options and you can choose which you would prefer. You can eat the cost of a rewrap(I'll call Mike Webb and get a quote or you can call him) or you can have the cue back and refund me my money.
As far as the deal with <deleted repected AZers handle>......it doesn't concern me and if you were willing to settle for less than advertised then that's on you. I thought I was buying a *mint* Sledgehammer and you knew it had these problems and didn't mention it in your ad. That is false advertising and I don't think that's a fair way to do business. I await your response. Let's not drag this out any longer.
i bolded the part were he didnt accept my apology for admitting it was an honest mistake and he accuses me, soory but i dont repsond to this nicely. i was trying to help at first, after this i wasnt. then came all the bad emails.
I had a similar case with some finish problems on the joint collars of a cue I sold. I honestly didn't see them, but took the buyer's word about it. We worked out a partial refund so that he could have the finish fixed. Simple and both parties were satisfied.TATE said:I kind of had the same thing happen to me. I sold a cue on E-Bay to an honest buyer and when he received it, he said there was a gash in the finish. I didn't see it when I shipped the cue. He reaction was he was in disbelief that I could have overlooked it when I advertised the cue as "mint".
I had checked the cue over before I sold it, rubber banded it together, and leaned it against a wall near my pool table with several other cues. I figured that at some time between listing the cue and shipping it, someone in the house, kids playing or whatever, accidentally knocked over the cues, and it got scratched by another cues joint.
I told him I didn't see the damage but I felt he was telling the truth and offered him a refund or a partial refund for the repair. He took the partial refund and that was that.
This was several years ago and I still communicate with him - he's a really interesting collector. I also don't store my cues carelessly anymore while their waiting to ship and I check cues over carefully just before sending them out.

After i sent the cue i had not heard back from George. I emailed him off the forum asking him if their were problems with the cue and i asked him if he kept his review private as to not embarass me publicly. After all, i was only donating the cue and i knew nothing about George.
Well i do now. he kept his review of the cue off the board so that i would not be embarrased by it. For that i give him a great thank you. I apologized to him for this screw up and i have offered to rectify the problem in the near future with another cue.
But him keeping his review off this board so as not to embarrass me, shows me what a great person he is. He is a man of principiles and a person who cares about others and their feelings.....thank you again george......mike

you know everybody that sells a cue on here is going to be sure to check it over multiple times and hopefully describe it exactly so nobody gets the wrong idea or confused to what they are buying.. so nobody has to go though this episode again.. hopfully... anyways...

As far as I am concerned you are making a bad name for new englanders. If Koop or Boogie know this guy, Please ste him straight he is ...... with a fairly tight group of guys, and then to step on George's post for sale is way out of line!!.

And I learned that a seller needs to check a cue very carefully to make sure everything is disclosed. Actually, I learned this a while ago when I missed something in the description.boston.mike said:hello all,
this situaiton is over. his wrap is getting fixed.
i have learned 4 things
1. type slower for better understaning, hehe
2. never post when you are mad, it only makes thing worst
3. MOST INMPORTANT, if you are a buyer please make sure you ask for pics of the cue you are nuying. dont buy it without seeing pics like GEORGE did. you see what happend.
4. also as a buyer, set buying guidleines incase something happens to your productlike defect, dont like, etc.
thanks to all those caring AZ'ers that go involved regardless of which side was chose. take care all.

misterpoole said:These are a good start. I give you credit for fixing the situation. Rational communication is all important. That includes promptly replying to a buyers inquiries/issues. By ignoring the buyer for days a small problem escalates quickly. The buyer begins to think 'ripoff', and you will have to work harder to rectify the situation.
