F-em and feed them Fish, I hope you put things together and kick their butt's!!!!!:)

I hate cowards more than anything else on this planet, sounds like your old team mates were a bunch of girls, because a man's team would have flat out have told you to your face that they did not want you play anymore. The way they handled the situation is so Chicken shit that anyone else who joined that team knowing how they handled the situation deserves to be bent over themselves!!!!!!:D

Mate, you must have done something to piss everyone off

That's what I thought but when I confronted the new capitan her exact words to me were " you were a fantastic captain. Best one I ever played with nothing personal ed yeams come and go "

Sorry, but that's a load of bull. If they can't own up to it, then you're better off without them. I'd gladly join your team, but I'm nowhere near Mass. Best of luck to you whenever you meet them in league.

That's female for "There is something we don't like about you, but we think it will hurt your feelings if we tell you so go find another team."

I'd use that as my motivation to practice so when you do met them on the battle field you'll leave no prisoners...like your signature says: POOL is much more important thatn life or death!!! Give em hell ED!

Trying to need a team first

They did you a favour, stop with the foolish league and play real pool, single events! Non-handicap! These leagues are making players lazy and sucking competitive pool spirit from the game.

When I started playing pool people talked about the top shooters and wanting to beat them, they had a competitive edge and wanted to improve; prove to them self, "I can do it!". Now, players spend tons of time crying about handicaps, stupid rules favouring weaker players, only allowing 1 good player per team or removing top players altogether. Most leagues are turning the next player pool into stagnant waters.

Practice, compete, learn how to win, hate to lose. Paying $20 and knowing if you are going to win that night... is fun! Way more fun than spending $500-600, waiting for 30 weeks, and rely on 4 or 5 other people while hoping other teams don't sandbag.

I actually love league play and tournement play if its competitive pool I like it and I am constantly trying to improve.

For the record I am the weaker player. That's why I try to surround myself with better players. Brings me up

I feel ya! I have run pretty much the same core team for over 10 years in our women's league. Last year I had a gal beg to be on our team, so we took her in. Apparently, she didn't like how I ran the team...I am a very democratic captain, allowing everyone input. So this year, she tried to steal my team away...running around behind my back trying to recruit my players. WTF?!!! Go scout your own players!

Anywho...it backfired on her...my core players were so annoyed by the BS, that we all decided to take our 1st Place trophies and shelve them for the year. Needless to say, the league was not happy about losing a team for the year...but we all needed the break anyways. We'll be back next year ready to tear it up again!! :D

Maybe that's why they didn't want you any more? Great captain, but so-so player? What's YOUR skill level anyway? If it was a few women making the decisions for the new team, maybe they figured if there was gonna be men on the team, they wanted them to be higher skill level players. I don't know, I'm just coming with another theory. I think it's chicken-sh*t to go behind your back though!!!

Here's why I'm upset

At the midpoint of every session the league operator put out a letter saying if you register your team early for the following session you'll be in a drawing for no team dues the following session. So I asked every one if they were coming back they all said yes. I guess its a good thing I didn't order the team shirts as christmas gifts this year

I inherited my team and two of the players tried first to make me agree to do whatever they wanted as captain, then they tried to take all my players.

It didn't work and my team has won the local championship twice and the one guy's team is consistently bad and the other doesn't even play anymore.

I love it.
