Where I live we have 29 Tables, and a bunch of Balls to Clean. They are seeking a New Ball Cleaning system, and I am asking what you all would recoment for a Ball cleaner that is FAST, and Good...

If you can provide Names, Brands, etc. Or a Source it would be a GREAT HELP....

You can check with Purdman, but he has a 16 ball cleaner from Bludworth that cleans up real well.
Ask Don for all the details but he basically squirts some Aramith Billiard Ball Cleaner in the unit, puts the balls inside, turns it on and done in a few minutes.

I have been looking at the smaller ones that do 8 balls at one time and they can be pricier than Bluds for the same results.
I just do not have the room to store a machine so I will wait.

Myron

Do ask Don his opinion (he tells it like it is).
But let others chime in as well.
I am sure the Blud is the best choice - saw them at VF last year.

Good luck,
Myron

Built my own

I built my own and will be soon offering them to pool rooms. It will be far less expensive than the ones on the market. It does 1 set of balls at a time and it is heavy duty. We have used this one for 2 years now cleaning balls for our tables we have in other pool rooms. We just opened our room with 38 tables and it handles it just fine. Hollar at me and I can let you know what I can make you one for.

Well we need a HEAVY DUTY Cleaner to do 29 Sets of BALLS

Awhile back (few years) I reseached and bought the automatic BallStar Cleaner that cleans 8 balls at a time, BUT it cleans and polishes those balls
in 1 minute and 50 seconds, so doing 16 balls takes about 5 minutes by the time you unload 8, and load the other 8. That is faster for a rack than any other cleaner I have seen. It does a very good job too. I bought it from Gates Billiards in Dallas, and had very good service.

Me and a friend, who owns a bar with 2 tables, started a Ball Cleaning service for bars, and small Pool rooms (ones with 6-7 tables), and had no problem with the cleaner. It is sturdy, as it weighs 36-38 lbs.

I use the BallStar cleaner in my room. Has heavy, medium and light settings. Nice not to run a full cycle for a quick touchup. Cleans and polishes. Not so great for scuffs from cuetips, though. I usually take a microfiber cloth and a little glass cleaner to the cue ball, and any other with anything other than chalk on it. I can be getting any grime that may get on a ball while 8 balls are going through the cycle. One fill-up of cleaner lasts about three full racks. Pretty simple, and always reliable. I prefer it the the ones that run a full rack at once, as it's much quieter than them.

Diamond Billiards has recently come out with a GREAT ballcleaner. I have been around the billiard industry for 40 years and there has always been a weakness in ball cleaners.

I have used the Bludworth - but it is noisy and a direct mount to the motor. It also overheats real fast. The Porper is what I used in several rooms. But it is a little light weight for heavy use.

Diamond's is very heavy duty. Absolutely quiet. Single motor with two platters. All shafts are in carrier bearings. The smaller platters eliminate all vibration and noise. This is really built to last.

Call them with questions. Brian Miller (sales) 1-812-288-7665

and
Porper http://www.porper.com/index.cfm/fus...e116ac3ee-8F4B58A8-20ED-7D0A-C0CACDF444B34E9A both make a fine ball cleaning machine.

I have also heard good things about the BallStar machine made in China (available from most distributors).

The best cleaning fluid for any of the aforementioned is this: http://www.tigerproducts.com/store/product.php?productid=16210&cat=257&page=1

ball cleaner cheap

well i wanted to tell u i usede to work for a brunswick dealer in wichita falls,tx in the 70's. a very good ball cleaner we used was , u get an old laundry bag metal holder. 4 legged and round at the top, then u get a gunny sack that would normally hold rice or beans. u sretch the sack over the laundry sack frame. be sure to make it loose in the middle, then u use the old fashioned johnson's paste wax in a can wax all the balls then put in the laundry basket that u have made out of the burlap bag. get a drill, variable, put on a round drill flat type disk that u would use to sand with. put on a lambs wool head on that flat round disk. then stick the drill in the balls in the burlap bag and start the drill slowly the balls will start to turn round and round. after a minute or so u have the shinest balls ever. and its very cheap. hope that helps u i have been in the billiard business 40 years. mark webb po box 3474 wichita falls, tx 76301

Try Turtle Wax Polishing Coumpound.

I've heard this from my mentor and after I clean my set I'm going to give it a shot. (they're not super cheap balls, but nothing fancy like centennials or aramiths)

That will work quite well.

I.m a DIY auto detail guru and have found Meguiar's NXT to work best.

Yes Craig, that's the new Diamond ball polisher. Buy the way, how do you like it compared to the Ball-star polisher that you replaced with it? I just dropped off 2 more of them in the Sacramento area, 1 to Players Sports bar...replacing his Ball-star polisher, and 1 to the Jointed Cue Billiards pool room...replacing his Gandy polisher.

PS. In case anyone's interested in finding out more about the world's only 2 platter ball polisher which actually rotates the balls at the same-time it spins them...call Diamond Billiards for more information.
