Bandido's cues

Hi Toy and thank you for the kind words. I guess you're one person that I wouldn't need to introduce myself to since my cues are me.

I think I know the wood that you've mentioned specially when you said that it came from Bislig. A friend of mine use to be the VP of Picop, B. "Ding" Tantoco who stayed with me after his cardiac surgery in Texas, and we touched on the woods of Bislig and Mindanao in one of our discussions. Don't try to persuade your family to give you the table to turn into cues as I have that wood available. Plus you won't get me to make a cue out of an heirloom piece.

See you at the EB this Saturday.

Edwin Reyes :)

Hi Edwin,

Thanks for the quick reply. My fam will be thankful ill not be bringing a truck over to cart away our dear old sala table.

Ive been thinking, id like my cue to have the design of the 4 Kings from a deck of cards. Poker and Billiards being some of the things we learned from our father. I think the 4 Aces would be more common.

Looking forward to shaking your hand on Saturday.

Hmmm... a cue with 4 cards in the buttsleeve... kinda like those Meucci cues? he he he

:D

Well, you could always try having those nudie cards instead of the regular playing cards...that would make it different.

Just joking Toy... :)

EB ? Where would this EB be held ? Is this the Matchroom Sports EB ?

Talk you out of it? On the contrary, I'll encourage you to embark on such an interesting project but do suggest to look for a unique deck other than "Bicycle". Wanna try tarot cards? :D

yes, i'm looking for a unique deck.....tarot? maybe not, lest we want the fates, instead of skill decide if the ball will fall into the pocket :)

cue design

Bandido, I realise you are a very busy and a highly regarded cuemaker and that you don't know me from anyware other than this forum but I was wondering if I could be so bold as to ask you for a favour. Let me explain. I have a cousin who has been learning the art of "Arnis" and has asked me to build him a cue which incorparates this theme. Now seeing as though you are from the place where this sport originates I was hopeing you might be able to help me out with some ideas for inlay which would make reference to the art and the Philippines. He does not want an extravagant cue, just a nice clean cue with some simple inlay. If you do not wish to help me I will certanly understand.
Thanks

Hi CC,
Use dark woods most specially mac. ebony. As for design elements, use Mother-of-pearl and yellow-ocre colored hardwoods in long rectangular shapes but make them segmented. If I think of anything else, I'll pm you.
Edwin Reyes< hopes he doesn't end up fighting with this stick LOL

Wow!

bandido, i have seen the 1st pics you shared before but it's only now that i've gone through the entire thread. like toy i'm very happy to realize that we're not only good in playing pool but also in cue making. and what a coincidence you have the same family name with the greatest pinoy pool player! you're both very creative!

right now, i'm not so much into playing pool. i'm still in the early stage of learning it. probably someday when i think i'm already good in it, i'll consider having ER custom cues.

more power, God bless.

edwin i have a deck from iceland very midevil viking, very different looking hearts, clubs, ect. if interested.

Thank you

Thank you very much for your advice I will send you some pics when I am finnished. As far as fighting with the stick I am hopeing that if I make the cue nice enough he will at least think long and hard about it first. :D

Hi Muxy,
I recieved your pm and hope you don't mind my answering here. I'd love to do your JP but, depending on the design,
it may be economical for you to seek a cuemaker closer to your location as the shipping cost of the finished product may diminish your appreciation of it. If you really think that my making it is absolutely necessary to meet your satisfaction and that the shipping cost is inconsequential then I am at your service. Thanks Muxy.
