Banking with the Beard

Bargain at its price...nothing else even close to it on the market for banks.

Think about it...if you paid a pro player a bargain rate of 50 an hour and learned ONE shot that helped you win some important games, you'd think it was worth it. For half the price, you get a whole book of shots to work on.

There are very, very few books out there that actually help anyone who is close to an A player. Capelles books, all the old material, etc...only really help a beginner.

Accu-Stats are always worth watching, Grady's videos have a lot of good info, but other than that, there actually isn't a whole lot out there that really helps people who already know up to intermediate level pool.

People pay 200 bucks for Eddie Robins one pocket books and I honestly think Freddie's book has just as much valuable info.

Afternoon everyone.

I am getting ready to buy this book. I was wondering if there is a better reference than this one for teaching banking or if I have made the right choice in getting it (IYHO?) I already know how to bank and understand the "feel" needed. However, I am a sucker for a good instructional book <grin.>

Thx,
~Roy

The absolute nuts.

Hmm

Just got a few neat shirts from the Beard today.

Go to "bankingwiththebeard.com" for the full line of his "stuff"........

I find that books and video's both have certain advantages. I'll look over a few pages or chapters of a book when I have a little time on my hands or before sleep. I don't do that with videos, I tend to watch them when I have time to watch all of them.

About Freddy's book, I read it and the very next day applied some of the things in it to making banks at the pool hall. Any book or video is more effective if you have a home table. One thing I have been meaning to do that I heard was fairly inexpensive is go to Kinko's and have them cut the binder off and spiral bind the book so it lays flat on a pool table or side table.

Hu,
great idea on the binder! Freddies books, and videos are both interesting, and full of great info on pocketing banks. Great addition to your library.

Thanks to everyone

I just got back in town from NY. I was visiting the legendary, Brooklyn Jimmy Cassas and his friend, the last of the "Westie's," Warren "Chief" Schulman who just emerged from a 25 year stretch at Comstock. He (Chief) was a very personable, intelligent, funloving guy, and I am going to post some of his writings that look back on the escapades of the old Irish "Westie" gang, on my website in the next week or so.

I didnt have access to a computer in NY, so this is my first look at this thread and all the wonderful plugs from all the fellas. I can only say, much thanks to all you straight shootin' birds out there.

Just bought it two weeks ago. I thought it was some of the best money I have ever spent on pool instructional material. I am very impressed, and my banking is already much improved.

It is the best instructional book I own, hard to imagine any better ....

Last night I was practicing a bit, and to finish the last rack I hit 4 banks in a row, each setting up position for the next. ( The great thing about Freddys systems is that there are often several solutions to any given bank, and you choose the best one for your position. ) Then, with the smile still on my face, I set up one of his "automatic" shots, a cross-corner with the OB and CB on the first-diamond-line (1/2 ball hit) ... right in the heart .... so I set it up again and shot the "automatic-3-rails-to-the-side" (1/4 ball hit) .... right in the heart. Thanks Freddy !
