Banking with the Beard

I got a copy of this book based on some some previous threads here at AZB. I read it cover to cover and then took it to my table and am doing one shot at a time till I feel I really own it (so it's gonna take me some time):) .
Nothing I have ever read or practiced before gave me such immediate results. Anyone who is trying to improve thier skills needs to give this a look.
I have honestly had more fun with this than any pool related book yet!

Yes, I have found the same to be true for my banking game. This is an excellent book that really made me look at a couple of things about the bank shot. I make an effort now to look at speed, sidespin (q ball) and the angle to the pocket. Some really great stories in here also!!

The stories are good and if you take the time to understand why what he teaches works, you find yourself using his adjustments to make shots that you may not have actually practiced from the book yet. Thats when I really feel like I'm "getting it".

Freddy have you learned nothing from Walt Frazer? Multiple accounts will not be tolerated!

Just kidding... Freddy.

I really enjoyed the book as well.

Fantastic book, one of the best pool books out there and the best one on banking.

 who is freddy??????????

Freddy "The Beard" Bentivegna is a hall-of-famer of Bank Pool and is one of our very own AZers here in the forums. As far as his book, I am desperate to collect his book as well as he super sick long-sleave T-shirt that he has in stock. Very rock-n-roll, baby!

Noone special (small bit of sarcasm)... just a world class bank pool player and at one time was one of the most skilled one pocket players in the country if i remember correctly.

and one more thing if my memory serves me better... didnt you (freddy) have a little something to do with teaching Efren the great game of one pocket???

Who sells this book?

Can you tell me where you bought Freddy's book? I'd like to buy a copy myself.

Thanks,
James

I have this book and it's the most informative book that I've read about banking/pool.It's a must have.

THAT is funny!

By the way, what the heck are you, a NASCAR fan or something? Ever since you adopted and agreed to take care of the AZB mascot, all he does is turn left....

Did I school Efren?

Actually, I did, but those are his words not mine. He learned by playing and gambling with me daily for a year. In truth I tried not to teach him anything, but as we played he absorbed knowledge faster than I had ever dreamed possible.

By the way, thanks for all the plugs, fellas. You too, Scott Lee. I heard tell you do a little bit of teaching yourself.

Freddy...I have to quote George Michaels, after I let him peruse your very first 'pre-production' copy (which I got from Randy Givens, and still have)..."If you PLAY pool, you will want to have this book! If you gamble pool, you MUST have it!" The Gospool is great too!...loved the stories.
