Lilburn Georgia has banned Pool,Poker and Karoke from bars that serve beer.Only passive entertainment allowed like watching T.V.

Hooray for the Bible Belt! Just one more notch tighter. :P

<--- Grew up in Atlanta.

In Ringgold, where I live, you can't dance in a bar.
But hey............some times you gotta cut loose....you know......footloose.
Kick off your Sunday shoes. oohweee.

Seriously, it took a vote in city council recently to allow pool tables back within the city limits.

The poker thing I get, the pool thing is a joke,

but especially if you sing in a church, you had better be very careful about banning people from singing anywhere.

My Grandmother lives in Ringgold, GA. Wow, small world.

It also appears the GA legislator is again going to turn down the sale of Sunday beer, wine and liquor sales across the state. If we shoot pool in our homes with our buddys while watching Sunday NFL, we have to stock up the spirits on Saturday night and hope not to run dry.
I had more people than anticipated come over to my house during this year's Super Bowl and ran out of beer.
This Lilburn B.S. does not surprise me one bit.

Legislator is one guy - legislature is the whole pile. :P

How is this news? I lived in GA for most of my life and can't remember when you could buy alcohol on Sundays. Did things change and now about to change back?

I live right next to Chattanooga TN. They sell on Sunday.
It takes me 15 min to go get more beer on Sunday.
I'm one of the lucky GA residents.

Thanks for correcting my grammar scott. My blood sugars are low and the brain is sluggish...lol You could never buy alcohol on Sunday in GA. Every couple years a legeslator (think i got it right this time) introduces a bill to change the law. This year seemed promising as many were on board to vote and pass the bill. Then Gov Perdue said he will veto any such bill and it quietly died...again.

Bazooka, Chattanooga is a 90 min run around the corner from me...lol. I did vacation there in 2004 and did enjoy the Sunday sales there. When i was in the military, I would go on post at Ft Mcpherson to buy liquor. Federal installations are exempt from this archaic blue law in Georgia.

Yah, I love the hypocrisy of the blue laws, like in Georgia.

You can't drive to the liquor store on a Sunday, buy some beer, drive back and drink it in the safety of your home.

But you CAN drive out to a bar, get hammered, and then drive drunk on the roads, putting yourself and others in danger.

Go figure.

Voted in or mandated by the fun police??:(

Had to check the calender to see if it was April 1st. Nope its still the 6th of march lol. Talk about the silliness of insulating against everything... good in the world. Sean

Ahhhhhhhhh... New York!

Ahh, but wait a minute, you can't dance in a bar in NYC with out it having a cabaret license! Go figure. Bars are open 'till 4am though! AND, unlike the states that border us*, you can buy beer in just about every deli and gas staition in the state.

*not sure about Vermont

The world is screwy... Isn't Jack Daniels made in a dry county?

Ahhhhhhhhh, I love Montana

Where back pockets on jeans are still illegal. (too convenient to carry a flask in)

Don't forget about the fact that it's legal to shoot an Indian if he walks into a bar with more than six Indian friends. The law doesn't distinguish between native Americans and people from India...

And you can't have sheep in the cab of your truck unless you're with someone else...Wonder why they have that law?

Any position besides missionary for sex? Forget it, that's illegal.

In Kalispell, there is a law that all pool tables must be able to be viewed from the street outside the billiard hall where they are located.

If you live in Billings, you should rest easy because it's against the law to bring a bomb or rocket to a city council meeting.

All states have stupid laws...just seems like this law in Georgia is going to be enforced.

Cheers,
RC
