Who won the 8 ball tournament? Who won the all around?I can't find any results.

The tournament at White Diamonds in Lafeyette Louisiana paid more than this tournament did and many other tournaments with only a 40 dollar entry. Would it be so hard for other tournament promoters to duplicate these types of payouts?

Just make the payouts good enough where guys like hillbilly don't have to struggle to make a living.:(

Mitch Ellerman won the 8 ball and Hennessee won the all-around. As for your other comments I have no answer.

There is another thread about the tournament in Louisiana. I suppose you didn't see it.

HillBilly total win included Calcuttas (there were two of them). He went for $2300 in the first Calcutta, it was reported. So, IF had himself 100% in the Calcutta, his investment was $2340 plus the second Calcutta amount. If you can get 64 people to put up $2340 entry fee, I will hold a tournament this weekend.

Wow!! that is awesome news for the local boy...

And based on my new way of thinking, that is awesome news for me...because I have beat Mitch twice in the same night in a straight up race......(to 3)

If I can beat Mitch..and Mitch can beat the whole field...(I must have a good shot)....Based on my new way of thinking that is...;)

Is White Diamonds a PH? If it is I think there is your answer. They don't have to pay for table rentals, setting up the area, banquet room rental and etc. I don't think any of this is donated by the casino.

well, adding a calcutta to the payouts make the total purse a lot bigger than the winning pool.

if he bought himself im sure with the amount of bids going for him he had to shell out 2k just to buy himself as there was no other players of his caliber there.

actually, it would be difficult for other promoters to duplicate the payouts as the White Diamonds event had over 90 players for one - many regional events cant draw more than 45 players at any given time for various reasons; and there were two calcuttas included in the amount paid out. many states do not allow calcuttas/player auctions, so that is not an option to many.

I just spoke with someone who played in this tournament. It was a race to 7 alternating break and there were two calcuttas. So really it was nothing special. Bummer.:( So really I am thinking the holdem table at the Isle of capri in lake charles is a better bet and an hours less of a drive for me.:(

i think you just reiterated what i said, but i absolutely understand why you would rather go to the casino - it is a lot of fun there :p the room owners were quite nice though and they are making an effort to have events, so if you are in the area, you should stop in.
