Bartrum vs. D' Alfonso - Round Two!

Makes a ball on the break but doesn't leave a shot on the one. He banks in the one, but jaws the two. I think he rushed that shot. Chris makes the two, shoots the four down the long rail into the corner. Five in the corner, six in the corner, seven straight into the corner, eight in the side and the nine is straight in. Chris is up two games.

There is a bit of a disagreement as to whether the rack is aligned properly. Chris breaks and makes two balls leaving a long, almost straight shot on the one. He makes it and a long shot on the two to get easy on the three. Then the four in the corner. Almost straight in on the six in the corner. Seven in the opposite corner and pretty good on the nine. Chris is up three.

take it to the chat room. easier to keep up and we should use it every once in a while

The six goes on the break and Chris has a long shot on the one. He misses the one in the corner and leaves Tommy where he can see the one, but no easy shot is available. He has a tough cut on the one into a far corner which he almost makes, but hangs the one. Chris is blocked from seeing the one but goes rail first and makes the ball. Spins around perfect for the two but almost hooked himself. Got a break there. Makes the two and three and then cuts the four into the side to get nicely on the five. Spins around nicely off of three rails for an easy shot on the seven in the side pocket. Makes the eight in the corner and bumps into the nine, but leaves a pretty easy shot. Chris is four games up.

Tommy is playing better tonight than last night, but that missed 8 ball, which would have put him 5 games up, looms VERY large right now.

Chris makes two on the break. Cue ball is frozen or close to frozen on the one ball. Pushes out. Tommy plays a safety, but Chris can see the one. He plays a nice safety on Tommy. Tommy hits the one leaving it near a corner pocket. A long way from the cue ball. Chris makes a SUPER shot to make the one and gets all the way back up table for the two. He runs the rest of the table to go five games up.

The six goes on the break. Chris has a shot on the one, but the two is blocked from the same pocket by the four. Chris makes the one and tries to go all the way around the table to break out the two, but he hits the nine and leaves nothing but an attempt for a safety. Tommy can see the two, a long shot which he makes, but draws whitey into the side pocket. Chris, with ball-in-hand runs out a trouble free table to go six games up

Chris breaks and the six goes. He makes a fairly easy three ball combo. The three balls were close together. Leave a combo (one into the 7). He makes it and leaves the one right near the corner pocket. No problems in sight. Two in the corner, three in the side, five in the corner (using the bridge), eight in the corner, and he gets fairly good on the nine, but still leaves a little cut into the corner pocket. He makes it to go up by 7 games.

The Chris train is definitely accelerating the deptarture schedule and preparing to leave the station....

All aboard.

Bill you are a fine conductor.

Jay this train might take off prior to your estimate.

Wow, Tommy is in another huge hole. Can he do something different than what happened last night? He is known to have a ton of heart, but he is in real trouble here. Chris breaks and makes one ball. He has made something on the break almost every time. He's hooked on the one and pushes. It seems like Tommy is hardly ever at the table!

Tommy plays a great safety on the one leaving nothing but a tough one-rail kick for Chris. Chris hits the one and leaves Tommy safe. Nothing but a kick to hit the one. Tommy hits the one but leaves a cut on the one into the corner pocket. A thin cut. Chris makes the one. Chris missed the two and leaves Tommy a shot on the two into the corner pocket. Tommy makes a nice shot to get on the four. Makes the four, five, and six, and gets nicely on the seven. Seven in the corner. Almost straight on the eight. Makes it and draws back for nice shape on the nine. Chris is up by 6 games.

Tommy breaks, for the first time in a LONG time. Makes three balls, but has nothing but a bank on the two. And a tough one at that. He plays a nice safety. Chris reaches for the jump cue. He jumps the four attempting to shoot the two into the corner pocket. He misses and leaves Tommy a shot on the two. He makes the two and gets on the four in the side. The five is on the opposite rail. He makes the four but is tough on the five. But makes it. Cuts the six thinly into the side pocket. Eight in the corner and an easy shot on the nine. Chris by five.

Tommy breaks and comes up dry. Chris has no shot and pushes to a long straight shot. Tommy misses, but leaves Chris nothing but a long, tough shot on the one. He plays a safety (I think, I couldn't see) and leaves Tommy at the other end of the table. Tommy jacks up and hits the one and leaves Chris hooked by luck. Chris hits the one, but leaves it almost straight in the corner for Tommy. Tommy makes the one and two and gets nicely on the three. Cuts the three into the corner and falls in good shape on the five. Gets a good angle to shot the six and go down table for the seven into the corner. Seven, eight, and nine go in. Chris is up four and Tommy is showing some true heart.

Nothing goes on Tommy's break. He was rated by some as having a better break than Chris, but it hasn't been that way tonight. Chris shoots from the jaws of a corner pocket at the one which is almost dead center of the table. A great shot, but leaves nothing for the two. Chris seems to try to play a safety on the two, but leaves an easy shot for Tommy in the corner pocket. Tommy runs the two, three, and four, and leaves himself kind of tough on the five. A sharp angle shot with the five on the rail just down from the side pocket about a foot. Tommy makes the five nicely and is looking at the six which is near a corner pocket. He makes the six and has a shot on the seven in the side pocket. He makes the seven, a thin cut on the eight into the side and perfect on the nine. Tommy ain't done yet! Chris by three.

Two balls go on the break and Tommy has a shot on the one in the corner pocket. But he hangs the one. Chris makes the one and spins around nicely for the two, but he hangs a fairly easy shot on the two. Tommy makes the two but accidentally draws his cue ball INTO the four instead of past it. Leaves a tough shot, either into side or corner. He fires it into the corner and hits the five with the cue ball. The cue ball and nine ball head, in a race, for a corner pocket. The nine wins by a hair and the cue ball barely touches the nine. But enough for the nine to fall in. A partisan crowd lets out a big cheer.

Tommy breaks and makes a ball. Now down by two games. He can see the one, but no easy shot. Tries a safety, but gets a bad roll and Chris can see the one ball. Chris makes the one and gets on the two. Softly rolls in the two and bumps into the 7 to keep shape on the three. Makes the three and five and is perfect on the six. Back down table for the seven. Easy shot on the nine. Chris by three games.

Does anyone here actually think that Tommy is going to win this set? He is a great player but Sonic is gonna bust him again.

Chris breaks and makes one ball. Plays a safety on the one ball. Tommy KICKS the one ball into the side pocket. Makes the two and gets on the four. Draws to the rail and back out to get on the five. Gets a bit of a roll as he could have hooked himself on the five. Makes the five and tried to draw back for the six, but gets hooked by the nine. A pretty bad roll here. He kicks at the six and hits it leaving a long straight shot for Chris. He makes it and gets on the seven with a nice shot. Seven down the long rail and the eight is near a corner pocket. Gets perfect on the nine to go four games up.

Chris breaks and scratches in the right side pocket. Tommy, with ball-in-hand and a fairly open table, runs to the four, but bumps into the four and leaves himself a little tough. He makes the four, but in trying to spin around the eight to get on the six, he hit the eight and leaves himself no shot on the 6. Correction, he banks the six in long rail and gets perfect on the seven in the side. Three rail shape on the nine and Chris is up by three.
