Bathroom breaks at the U.S. Open

People tend to forget these guys are humans too. Most people see them on streams. When the camera isn’t on them they are regular dudes. They can drink most under the table. 😂

If you’re a smoker then you may see them come out and join you.

They did start off from a pool hall afterall.

Fedor may break that mold. Admittedly a tournament only player. He’s at his best there. Not really a heads up gambling player. This from Rogan’s interview.

He doesn’t do drugs for those insinuating it. The players get drug tested. Rogan was trying to convince him to smoke weed and play. 😂
Show me a player who takes breaks when he's on a roll and then I'll believe you about them being only human. I've been there in the pro arena for a few decades. A break is taken at a strategic time, and very rarely is it because they really have to go and can't wait. Back when we could only take one break each per match, we took it when we needed to mentally regroup for ourselves. And if we did get in that position where we really had to go, and we already took our break, we could ask for an emergency break and would usually get it. But THAT WAS RARE.

How many times do these top notch players need to mentally regroup in one match? Are they that mentally weak? They can't withstand the time it takes to run a commercial break?

the commercial break will be equally long regardless, so how is that a problem? it's on the non-streamed, no shot clock tables there are potential problems with deliberate slowing down of matches

The players taking breaks do not slow down the game or production. If you're going to complain then complain about the commercials. Lets say they have a 5 minute commercial and the player leaves and comes back every time but returns with a minute left before it starts. I have no issues with this.

Nobody is taking breaks during games. I see a lot of confused people here.

Perhaps you are clapping aimlessly when production tells you to but for you arena guys, do they tell you when they are on a commercial break?

You may think the game is stopped for a guy heading to the bathroom. Are you aware of the commercial breaks and a player leaving during it?

On television it looks normal. We don't see guys going to the bathroom so obviously there is no issue.

I've been there. You haven't. That's the difference between you and me. If you don't like my opinion, feel free to ignore it.

That's great.

I'm just stating perhaps the audience is not aware of the commercial break. You guys see a break and a guy leaving the set. You may mistakenly believe they stopped the match for him to go to the bathroom.

He could be walking away because it is a commercial break.

That's EXACTLY why he left after every 3 games, I have no idea why these other people cannot comprehend that. It's almost like they're stupid or something 🤷‍♂️

I asked about all the breaks on my facebook page and Danny Kuykendall responded that he was there and saw that many players took multiple breaks in their matches, including during non TV matches where there were no commercial breaks. He wasn't the only one who witnessed this. Danny also posted that after one match he asked the ref why so many breaks, and was told by the ref: "It's a human rights issue. A player should be able to take as many breaks as is needed. He may pee all over the floor."

its hard to control or stop someone from having a real need. but if his opponent doesnt complain then nothing should be a problem.
if you think its sharking shark him back your way.

or the real way to run a tournament that seems to go too slow because of the players, just give each player a time bank to use as they see fit. if they run out of time the match is over.

why should a player that plays fast against a slow one get penalized for taking longer breaks. he deserves the same table time as the other in the match.

Looks like we not only have weak minds but weak bladders too?? ;)

That was actually an issue at the Rio for a pro tournament I saw. With the league players there, the line was huge, and there was a strict five minute limit.
Leagues don't drug screen either. Did they form a second line for the parking lot?

The speed in the bars, they might take a break if the opposition makes a bank or something. Me, I find the tension of holding it affects my mechanics. No stall just human condition.
