Battle of the Sexes- Lee & Schmidt

Williebetmore, I don’t know which part of my original post offended you to the point where you continue these petty taunts. Perhaps you’ve engaged in so many flame wars that you are unable to tolerate any opinion that differs from your own. However, I don’t appreciate your little schoolgirl personal insults.

In regards the original post in this thread, Joey A. and I are friends. We’ve kidded each other often over the years, and I usually have a pretty good idea where Joey is coming from. When he proposed a “battle of the sexes”, I understood him to mean that such a match would consist of many games or several sets. There are many players who could prevail over a superior player in a single game. However, if Lee and Schmidt were to play a 14.1 match of 500-600 points, or perhaps a match of 3-5 races to 125-150 points, then in my opinion Lee would have no chance to win. Would she be capable of winning a game? Of course. I once beat Chris MacDonald in a straight pool game to 125 points. I had to pull off a run of 40 and another of 50-something to do it. But I’d be lucky to beat him once in 5 times, and I’d have zero chance to beat him in a set of any length.

If you dis The Black Widow, Wiliebetmore is going to be ALL OVER YOU.
:D :D :D :D :D :D

JohnnyT,

Are you dissing Jeanette and Williebetmore, too?

For the record, Williebetmore's relationship with JL is one that is beyond reproach.

a lot of laughs but lets get back to square one

Joey,

A lot of laughs in this thread and I have enjoyed them. Now lets get back to square one. How do we get John and Jeanette together? Well not together, together to play straight pool with or without a few other sets. Perhaps some of us on the forums could add a purse to anything they want to bet?

Thoughts?

Before anyone gets the wrong idea here I just want to say I have nothing but respect for Jeanette Lee and Wiliebetmore. Although I have never met Wiliebetmore I enjoy and agree with his posts a good percentage of the time, plus Breakup said he was an OK guy. Johnnyt

offtopic - I wonder how Jeanette does against her husband? I saw them recently playing scotch doubles on ESPN and he seems to play like a champ. I think a lot of guys would feel insecure having a wife who shoots better :P

When you have a wife like Jeanette Lee who has legions of male and female admirers, you don't have feelings of inadequacies. If you did, you wouldn't have wound up with her in the first place.

Hu, when I started this thread I was just contemplating what a draw the two of them would be. If they were to play a straight pool match, I would want to see it short and sweet, maybe like a race to 125- maybe two sets- that's it. They used to play a lot of 14.1 in races to 125. An exhibition match in different towns would me nice but it all cost money, far more than what you and I have to give I am afraid. Jeanette nor John can ill afford to do this for cheap.

A new pool hall opening up might want to garner a little exposure and might belly-up some moolah.

As to getting them together, Jeanette is the key and probably Daddy Warbucks (aka: Williebetmore). :)

I agree of course

I was thinking more along the lines of a small herd of people putting up maybe twenty a head. Obviously folks ain't going to play a rack of nine ball for what I can put up by myself. VIProfessor had the idea of the board members sponsoring some events. I think that would be entertaining and we did see how quickly at least ten people would drop a hundred to back John.

I know of a couple of people who used to book huge musical groups into some pretty small venues. The trick was to catch them passing through with a free night. Catching John or Jeanette passing through and putting something together with the other one might be doable. Probably just have to wait and hope they meet in an open event though.

Practiced a few hours at Buff's tonight. A new hitch in my stroke. Putting the pause in at the back helped that and I did manage to finish the night on a high note.

I don't there is any way Jeanette plays better than her husband. George Breedlove is a tremendous player. If there was such a thing as true men's tour and he wanted to commit to his game full time, he would be a top pro.
I take nothing away from Jeanette's game. She is a tremendous womens' player.

All of this of course my opinion, but again George plays jam up..............

Jimmy

yeah I can tell he does play jam up.

I dunno if inadequate is the word I was looking for. Some guys are touchy about having a woman advise them or outplay them or show them up in some way about the things they're good at. It was a silly question though, george gets a wife who is totally into the same thing he is, and she happens to be hot and rich and famous. Obviously he can't be too bothered :P

now i know who you are!

Actually, she is Ms. 152. I know, because she ran them playing against me! I think it was in the autumn of 2002.

I guess that means if she did against js to 150, game, match, to JL!

cheers
