BCA to Implement Illegal Substance Testing for All Members

Frankly I don't see the need for drug testing since the game is only played by ladies and gentlemen of honor. Much like golf, pool players always call fouls on themselves even if unseen by the opponent or ref, and will always remind an opponent if they forget to move their coin after winning a rack, right? I've yet to hear of one instance of cheating or sharking in the pool world, so the need for drug testing would seem completely unnecessary.

:grin-angelic:

Since

the testing indicated would run from $30 to 50 per person, I really doubt if it is true ... duh! plus take time before results would be back.

Yes as well as soda because it contains caffeine. Each member will only be allowed to drink 20 oz of spring water per match. This is gonna suck.

DAMN, this mean us old guys have to give up our Geritol and Vigra. I think their are trying to get us out of stroke.

Epic fail.....

this is just what i heard from some source, but i figured i would relay the info.

Due to the increase in the speed of breaks (+24 mph), the bca and other organizations are going to start testing for steroids and other growth hormones. In addition to this women that are pregnant will not longer be allowed to break due to the increase in their hormone levels.

Not only do steroids increase physical strength but it also increased mental capacity. Removing drugs from the game will result in a reduction of runouts and well played balls.

The argument regarding phenolic tips will soon be overshadowed with this new development.

Please don't beat me up, i am just the messenger. :)

Lets see BCA League are most Bar Leagues! Bar serve booze! Are they going to test for legal alcohol, or illegal drugs?

CSI tackle box to "test" break cue tip

Damn NewStroke, when I saw the Title of this thread, even before clicking on it, I thought you were going to spoof on "phenolic tip testing" or something like that. E.g. you were going to say that before one's match, a BCA rep would have to test the tip on your break cue (visions of portable CSI tackle box come to mind with little bottles, eyedroppers, and cotton swabs) to see if one's break cue uses one of the "banned substances."

Then after these visuals go through my head, I click on it to actually read it, and it wasn't what I expected. Shucks. :D

j/k,

An obvious marketing ploy backed by Evian. Geez, what happened to the days when rules and laws made SENSE not CENTS.
