Be Careful dealing with Shotmaker Aka Mark Roach

I also had a fairly bad experience with shotmaker. We were going to trade my ned morris for his dave albrecht. I told him from the very onset of the trade that the shafts were both being redone and would take a couple weeks to be finished as i had just sent them in. I ended up running into a problem (i made a post about it) with the cue repair guy and i was more than generous in my attempts to keep him updated on the status of them. I however, was nice and didn't air the bad parts of it where he continued to badger me about it even though i texted him, called him, and messaged him on every update about the shafts. He continued to tell me he was leaving for canada in a week, but the funny thing was, he told me this for 3 straight weeks. Then when the shafts were finished and i told him i was ready to send, he told me he was leaving for wisconsin i believe, NOT canada and that he would contact me in a few days when he got back, well i sent him a few messages on here because i had seen he continued to get on here and had actually bought a couple things and i think sold something also in that time, so after over a month i asked him if he had changed his mind and he tried playing it off like he forgot, and didnt even remember what my cue looked like, and he wanted me to actually mail him pics and kept insisting on using USPS although i wanted to use fedex or something similar. Every time i tried to call him or text him it was minimum 3 4 days before i got a reply and usually it was on here. I was luckily smart enough to smell a problem and ended the entire deal. I wish you could have had better luck than i did because now you have to go through more difficulties than i did.

His communication has always been great, payments sent timely and he has always described his products with full honesty. He's a good man in my book and I have so much trust in dealing with him that I'd ship him something before payment was made.. Can't say that about too many others..

I agree 100%. I've had deals with Monto and you can flat send it & not sweat his funds. In fact during our last deal he surprised me with a very nice golf shirt customized with my Varney Cues logo. Never knew it was coming...just a gift. The man invited me to fly over and share dinner with his family. There is simply not a more outstanding, trustworthy gentleman on AZ...or the planet for that matter.:thumbup:

In my observations, the link suggesting that he has multiple identities here was answered by saying that his step-son was the poster.

Silly me, but wouldn't the presence of a step-son suggest also the presence of a wife?

........and yet there was still nobody home for a month.

Just wondering.

Why would your stepson be at your house sending you a PM about a cue you are selling? What did he want? Pictures? Gimme a break. I gave him the benefit of the doubt about not being a liar, but it appears that he is.

You know you screwed him. You made a deal, left town and filed an unwarranted claim against him through paypal.

I suspect you did so very deliberately.

In the court of public opinion, they found you guilty and you already put your neck in the noose.

You did it all by yourself and by making your quarrel with me, are kicking the chair out from under yourself.

You now own the reputation everyone is giving you...and yet seem inclined to still act appalled.

At that time, I had no idea he had had any interest in my cnc equipment, family comes first , i had to offer it to him to keep peace at home. He doesn't have anything to do with pool he wanted for some midevil things he was making.

Finally! Good man Mark, finally gotten rid of that parasite.

I guess there's really no choice regarding Monto's rep. Doesn't really matter anyway. We all know how much of a stand up seller Monto is :smile: I guess that's the most important AZ rep.

I agree it's miscommunication on both parts. However, i saw it as myself being out the money, he says it's insured, i don't have access to that information.

I do believe the butt will go back to him or he'll collect the insurance,

i really don't see his behavior as that of civilized human being, he says it's insured, but i know as soon as he files the claim they'll more than likely find it.

Im just curious...he claims that his step son plays for blondie...how is that possible when the youngest member that plays for blondie looks to be at least mid 30s and MOST of them are from 1975, so either he has a wife with a massive age difference or hes full of it, im thinking the latter of the two. something else that i just looked up i find quite interesting..."blondie" doesnt have a show until the 23rd of sep, tomorrow. so how on earth was he at a blondie concert in july? Second he told me he was going to wisconsin(or one of those northern states) and canada for work, NOT for fun. I am very glad i decided not to deal with him, i had a bad feeling and it appears it was the right bad feeling. Im sorry for anybody who was taken by him or still dealing with him, after he commited forum suicide, anybody who still is dealing with him from on here even if they havent commented can probably just forget it with him cause it wont happen. Just for the record...the Ned Morris i was going to trade to him is now back up for sale or trade if anybody is interested PM me.

If I have ever witnessed someone more deserving of being banned, I cannot remember when. Liars are like good novelists. Their stories have more layers than one can count. Fortunately, most are not smart enough to keep track of all their complex lying, and someone always spots the inconsistencies. I am extremely happy when true garbage gets kicked to the curb.

P.S. Monto---I hope you are able to recover everything from this transaction. And it must really make you feel good that so many people stood up and came to bat for you. You obviously deserve all the great things everyone said about you. Good luck, and I hope you get that itrader fixed. If you do not, I bet it won't matter anyway. Your rep is as solid as a ton of granite!
