Oh heck no. I can't afford that right now. Its just a suggestion to lend some credibility to the seller. It looks like no one trusts him. Maybe theres someone lurking around, a potential buyer, looking for a reason to believe that the seller can be trusted. Just a suggestion, who knows what happens.
Maybe the reason his credibility is in question is that a whole slew of people that aren't buyers for his cue have logged into his thread pointing out how, in their opinion, completely untrustworthy or out of the Country he is.

Gelese, please understand that some of the skepticism stems simply from the fact that you are new here and you come in on your very first post selling a big cue. This is kind of a family here and guys are just looking out for each other. There have been scams attempted on here for a lot less money than this.
I hope you haven't been taking any of this skepticism personally, and you really shouldn't for the exact reason that you are new here and no one knows you. If everyone had known you for the last 20 years, then you should take it personally. :smile:
Anyway, if you stick around here people will get to know you and you will become part of the family.
As far as selling the cue goes, just say "I realize I am new here and am offering a big ticket item. If anyone has a serious interest, make an offer and I'm sure we can work out arrangements for the transaction that will make both buyer and seller comfortable with the deal." And leave it at that. If someone makes you an acceptable offer then you can discuss how to complete the deal so they are comfortable and you are protected as well. There are ways to do this. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss this further.
Welcome to AZB and good luck with the sale, it seems a very nice interpretation of the 17C.
BTW, if you are the original owner then I would guess the butt plate is not ivory since it is not standard on that cue and you would probably remember a $400 upgrade.

Could easily just pick up the phone and call Ernie.
Proficient also offers escrow as does Marcus. No reason to start implying this seller is fake and trying to scam someone. Haven't seen any mention that they wouldn't escrow the cue, and have answered most of the questions.

Do not sweat all the skepticism. Many have been ripped off here in the past and mose new posters trying to sell 2K+ cues are guilty until proven innocent. As many have said here just use Marcus (FastnLoose) for escrow and all will be fine.

Well, it used to work for Bin Laden when he was running around through the mountains and caves of asia running around with his dialysis machine.
All the skeptical non-buyers offering their "opinions" made it an embarrassment some time ago. Its a beautiful cue, good luck with your sale.

all i was doing was tryin to help the seller understand what he might try to do to get any serious buyer to feel comfortable! get a grip kev! why play the paypal game when all is needed is someone here to escrow the cue? are you saying that marcus and others are a scam for escrow?

NO OFFENSE BUD...... I COULD BUY THE CUE IF I WANTED, AND I WOULD HAVE SUGGGESTED THAT ANY BUYER WOULD USE AN ESCROW SERVICE IN THIS SITUATION.
PAYPAL WITH A CC IS NOT A FAIL SAFE PLAN. I'VE HEARD MANY HORROR STORIES WHERE GUYS THOUGHT IT WAS.
I'M NOT SAYING THAT ESCROW IS A 100% FAIL SAFE, BUT I WOULD HAVE SUGGESTED THAT IT BE USED IN THIS CASE.
WHOEVER BUYS THIS CUE, I HOPE IS HAPPY WITH IT FOR YEARS TO COME, JUST BE SURE TO PROTECT YOURSELF, AND YOUR PURCHASE.
