Because I can!!

Grady

Pro Player
I think, because I've done pretty well for myself financially, that I'll stage a golf invitational. World Chanpionship has a nice ring to it, don't you think? 32 men or 64, doesn't matter to me, so long as I can play myself, along with some hand-picked cronies.
I submit respectfully again that no qualified individual should ever sit at home, while less qualified people do play. If I approached the powers that be in golf or any reputable sport with the above proposal, they'd laugh me out of their offices.
I cannot fathom why people can't see the dangers inherent in the Randys of the pool world. We do not need another super smart dictator type. Wasn't Mackey enough?

Grady, contact the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians at the Pearl River Resort near Philadelphis. MS. they have one super pro golf course and may be interested if there is anything worth promoting.

your idea may just have the "hook" that will draw a crowd and they are always looking for ways to promote their casinos.... dflash :)

whoa did you see that............?
Shocker alert!!!
Grady just moaned about Randy again.....

Wonder if he might actually hang around to elaborate on / defend his thoughts this time...

Grady I come from a long line of martial arts custom. As a child I studied Judo, then as a teenager Karate, and then Kung Fu and Swords as well as European fencing. One thing was to always show our respect to our masters, our teachers (sensei) and older students who came before us. It comes from the philosophy of "I am what I am because of You". I was sent to these schools by my family not to learn how to kick someones butt but to learn respect and values of life itself.
The teachers were in their 70's and 80's and once they were warriors now not able to do too much. They would not fare well in a physical battle today. However they were always respected and feared because of not only their knowledge but their willing to impart to the community. They always carried themselves with integrity and dignity. They would not think of competing but their students who would represent them in battle always did well and everyone would know it was because of the master. No one would dare criticize them.
I understand your frustration but in order to get what you want you are not going about it the right way IMHO. No one is going to give you respect when all you are doing is yelling about what you deserve. You are not the only one in this world who feels shortchanged. Please take a more healthy and creative approach. Organize your tournaments without revenge and anger, teach with humility, praise your students. Criticize and give advice with constuctiveness in mind. Build it and they will come.

Go Grady

I support you 100 percent. A golf tournament for the crew at Hardtimes would give new meaning to their lives. It may be hard to get more than a few of those big tables at one place. HT Bellflower has three.

Mabe just maybe this is why they dont want you there cause you whine too much.Grady I have nothing against you nor do I even know but, just from being on azbilliards for a while you do complain about alot of stuff..Go ahead and bash me if you like but everyone here knows im speaking the truth..

Okay, I'm cool with a good old fashioned smackdown once in a while, but starting a new thread on the same hot subject after not responding a single time to anything in the first thread reminds me of something 8 Ball Bernie would do.

Good or bad? I guess that's up to the reader.

this whole grady-randy thing can be settled rather easily, since they'll both be around banging heads for a while.

randy should invite grady to a 14.1 tournament, and grady can either put up or shut up. grady either will or will not prove he deserves an invite.

simple as that. however i'm sure both will disagree on some issue, do their dance, and it will never come about.

I enjoy reading these posts rather than writing them. But, even though I like Grady, I also wonder why he never responds to any of the thread he starts.
I also notice he seems to be the only one that I know of who doesn't thank anyone for sticking up for him. And this goes way back here.
If I had this many friends, I sure would be thankful.

Grady, you are now abusing these boards because you weren't invited to play in a tournament Randy financed. I repeat what I posted in your other thread:

Why do you continue to attack Randy when, as he previously stated, he tried to get you an invite? His nomination of you as a player was rejected by the WPA committee. Here was his explanation.

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?p=828841#post828841

Do you have a good reason not to accept it?

If you wish to know why you weren't invited, why wouldn't you contact the WPA and find out exactly who didn't want you and why they didn't want you there? Here's who they are:

Chris

chris,,the first link doesn't link.

also,,all anyone has to do is look at who's on the board of the wpa and see that inviting grady and others with an old history in pool will NEVER be the first priority on their list. their domain is world-wide, and when they target their audience they're not going to see the gradys of this world as a drawing card.

Do you need some cheese to go along with all that WHINE?!

A well respected man of any other sport would not go on and on about how he is the Pool God we have all waited for and he deserves this and that. I used to enjoy Gradys posts and would even search his name every once in a while to see if he had posted anything new. Now all he does is whine more than both my kids put together.

I wouldnt invite him either....there I said it.

Here's the corrected link.

Randy went though the trouble of explaining his position and his situation, but as far as I know, Grady has not addressed it.

Chris

Grady has not addressed it.

I'm guessing he is addressing it by posting the same old grievance over and over again in new threads.

And then ignoring those same threads.
Again that's just a guess,or this one man's observation.

Grady seems to have the respect of a lot of posters here on AZ and I imagine there is good reason for that, but I can't help but feel he is putting that repect at risk with this nonsense. The board and its users KNOW he's not happy about not being invited. He also tried to and failed to qualify.

How many times must we be told wants an invite dispite not being able to qualify because he feels "its right" ?

Grady,
Whether you are right or wrong on the matter is up to you and those who know the situation, but this is coming off as a little insane.
Are you gonna post about it tommorrow too? What the hell good will it do then? For that matter, what good is it doing today?

I wish you well and would love to meet you some day,but you need to let this go.

This thread is predicated on childish crap. Grady... I'm on your side here but you should be embarrased. Give it a rest and act like a reasonable, responsible adult.
