Before & after of a home style Delmo 9ft.

Wow!!!

Glen, why don't you just roll up to a customers house with all the raw materials and just build them a table from scratch right in their driveway?

Unreal.....

If I did that...it'd look like a Diamond when I was done:rotflmao1: since that's the only thing I know how to build...as some on here would like to think:wink:

I'm installing the cloth on this table today, then off to Montana to install a Diamond 8ft ProAm, then to Portland to install 2 more Diamond 7ft ProAms...one of which I may have to cut the slate in half to get it into where the table is going, then off to Grants Pass, OR to drop off another Diamond 7ft ProAm....then...off to San Fransisco to set up a Diamond 9ft Professional Honduras Rosewood table, and deliver a Diamond 7ft Smart table in the same area. Then recover a Diamond 7ft ProAm and a Gabriels 9ft in the same area. Once I get done with that then I'm heading down south to the LA area to work on the tables at Sal Butara's pool room.

I can't wait to get out of this damn heat:yikes:

Great work as always, Glen! You should start your own TV show a la Bob Vila titled "This Old Pool Table" :grin-square:

These are pictures of the finishing up of the slate, the finished pockets on the slate look, recovered rails, top and bottom.

Here's what the finished table looks like. Corner pockets are set at 4 1/2" side pockets are at 5". Miters and down angles are 141 degrees and 15 degrees. Table banks 9 rails easy, and 5 1/4 times the length of the table for distance, with the Diamond black K55 cushions. Not bad for an old table:grin:

Guys, that's an involved job in a well equipped shop.Notice that RKC is doing the work in the field on the customers driveway. That young man that's working with you sure is lucky. My hat is off to you again. You are a true craftsman.

Heres my table don`t know who made it. It does say topline on a little emblem on it.?

Any Ideas RKC?

I'm about 99% sure you have a National table made in Cincinnati, circa 1950's. These are excellent tables! That's a commercial table made for a poolroom of that era. National competed with Brunswick for many years in the Midwest market area.

Glen, you took that tired old box and made a beautiful pool table out of it. It reminds me of when someone takes an old junk car and totally restores it. Usually that restoration costs many thousands of dollars. I think the work you did here is worth the price of a good pool table at least. That Delmo is as nice as a lot of restored old Brunswicks that sell for big prices.

I'm in awe....really awesome work Glen. Thank you for the most informative post I've ever read here in AZB!

Simply amazing

I'm at a loss of words here. Truly a master of his art and craft, RKC you seem able to pull of some true magic. I enjoy these threads a great deal, keep 'em coming!

Get rid of a Delmo?

Just wanted to introduce myself, I am the proud owner of a 2" Solid Mahogany frame Delmo pool table. By the way I have just been bit by the RealKingCobra and I can't stop smiling. This table turned out 100 times better than I thought it would. Thanks a ton Glen. By the way I will take the boot off your truck and you are now free to leave.

This is the LAST time I agree to work on a sheriffs home pool table, at least in JAIL you get 3 meals a day, and can watch TV all day:grin: I know you had your doubts buddy....but I told you in advance how it was going to turn out...and how it was going to play;)
